A few important things to know:
• Maximum size including framing: 1000mm x 1000mm
• Photos must be suitably framed or printed on canvas

🌿 We know the condition of w**ds and vegetation across parts of Dampier has been frustrating for the community, and we apologise that areas have fallen below the standard you expect.

Following work to ensure vegetation management activities meet Aboriginal Cultural Heritage requirements; a staged program of works is now underway.

Stage 1 – Footpaths and road verges
Works commenced yesterday, 25 August, focusing on key footpaths and road verges to improve access and sightlines, reduce vegetation and fuel loads, remove Kapok and undertake w**d control.

Stage 2 – Residential verges
Works will then progressively move into residential areas to address vegetation growth, w**ds and general presentation.

Stage 3 – Drains and gullies
These areas require more specialised works due to terrain, access and vegetation. A dedicated works package is being developed, with works planned to follow Stage 2.

🌳 Tree pruning will also be undertaken throughout the program, including several outstanding community requests.

We recognise there is significant work to do and apologise for the inconvenience and frustration caused. Our focus is on getting these works completed and progressively bringing Dampier back to the standard our community expects.

Once complete, Dampier will return to the City of Karratha’s regular vegetation and w**d management program.

🏀 What a fantastic opportunity for our region!

❤️ DCA was very grateful to be invited to Rio Tinto’s special community event with the Perth Wildcats, ahead of their historic NBL pre-season game in Karratha.

🌟 Opportunities like this are so special for regional communities, bringing elite sport and memorable experiences right here to the Pilbara.

🌴 DCA Committee Member Kylie Marshall had a fantastic evening representing us, meeting the players and coaches and sharing a little about why Dampier is such a great place to live!

👏 A huge thank you to Rio Tinto , the Perth Wildcats and everyone involved in bringing this fantastic opportunity to our region.
