Happy Mothers Day to all the Mums especially our Brigade mums.

This Mother’s Day, we celebrate the strength, dedication and compassion of mums everywhere, but especially those in our family.

Across the state, thousands of mothers, grandmothers, mothers-in-law, stepmothers and aunties give their time to help protect their communities. Whether they're on the frontline or supporting behind the scenes their contributions are extraordinary.

Today, we thank them for all they do, not just as RFS members, but as leaders and role models in our brigades and communities.

🚒 Firefighters will be working in the area throughout the day.

It's nice to get a letter of thanks and a very generous donation from a grateful family. Sadly they lost their home in the fire but still appreciated the efforts of our local fire brigades. Pictured here are treasurer Jenn and Captain Bruce accepting the donation and thank you letter.

🔥 Bush Fire Danger Period Ending – Far South Coast 🔥

The Bush Fire Danger Period for the Far South Coast will end at midnight on 31 March 2026, meaning from 1 April 2026 fire permits will no longer be required.

However, if you plan to burn, you MUST still notify the NSW Rural Fire Service and your neighbours at least 24 hours before lighting up. This helps prevent unnecessary emergency responses and ensures firefighters know the fire is planned.

You can notify the RFS online here:

Before lighting any fire, always:
• Check weather conditions
• Ensure adequate fire breaks and water supply
• Never burn on Total Fire Ban days
• Supervise the fire at all times

If a fire escapes or you are concerned, call Triple Zero (000) immediately.

Stay safe and thank you for helping protect our community. 🚒🔥
