Did you know that up to 20% of the population is considered neurodiverse? Many of our teammates, leaders, partners and collaborators are part of the neurodiverse community.

Neurodivergent thinking brings creativity, innovation, strong problem-solving skills and new ways of approaching complex challenges. By recognising and supporting neurodiversity, we create workplaces that are more inclusive, collaborative and effective.

Neurodiversity Celebration Week: 16–22 March 2026

Neurodiversity in the workplace is something to be celebrated, be celebrated this week in particular we are proud to promote and shine a spotlight on Neurodiversity Celebration Week, a global initiative that challenges stereotypes and highlights the strengths and valuable contributions of people with neuro differences.

This week is about:
✅ recognising the valuable contributions of neurodiverse staff
✅ learning from lived experiences
✅ reflecting on how small changes can make teams more inclusive
✅ encouraging open conversations that reduce stigma and build psychological safety

Speed limit changes - Mary Street, Cygnet

Council has been informed by the Transport Commission that there will be a speed limit change for a section of Channel Highway in Cygnet known as Mary Street.

* The existing 50 km/h speed limit on a 600-metre section through the town’s main shopping precinct, from just south of Garthfield Avenue to the roundabout at Charlton Street, will be reduced to 40 km/h.

The decision to reduce the speed limit is based on the high pedestrian activity combined with the narrow width of the road and kerbside parking along this section.

A traffic survey has shown that most vehicles are currently driving below the current 50 km/h speed limit due to the constraints and a reduction to 40 km/h is consistent with typical speeds.

The changed speed limit will be in effect once the new speed limit signs have been installed, which is expected to be during the week starting Monday 28 October 2024. ‘New speed limit ahead’ signs will also be placed to warn road users of the change.
