What a great tribute to Fr Michael! These two Tassie pilgrims lit candles for our founder in a number of churches as they walked the Camino Portuguese. Thank you Sonja and Helen for honouring Fr Michael in this special way. We kniw he would be so touched by this. Buen Camino 👣🙏💜

How amazing is this? Half a million pilgrims have arrived in Santiago so far this year!

500,000 pilgrims have already reached Santiago this year.

Last year, 530,000 pilgrims reached Santiago in total, so 2026 might still break the record.

And while there are still pilgrims arriving in November and December, these are much quieter months on the Camino, so reaching 530,000 is definitely not a given.

Still, 500,000 pilgrims in one year is quite something.

500,000 people who walked, struggled, got lost, made friends, got wet, enjoyed the views, maybe had a few moments of doubt, and eventually made it to Santiago.

Every one of them with their own Camino story ❤️
