🙌Farewell to the students from the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie region who departed for home today after their time at Stewart House.

Across this intake, students came from 41 public primary and high schools, representing an enormous coordination effort between our Student Placements team and school principals to make these opportunities possible for children in need.

In one photo, Stewart House School staff are seen waving goodbye to the students as they depart. It’s a simple moment, but it reflects something important. Our staff remain closely connected and deeply invested in the wellbeing of students right through to their final moments with us.

Without this strong team effort, these life-changing experiences would not be possible. 🤩

In 2026, 800,000 raffle envelopes were distributed across NSW public primary and high schools as part of our major annual in-schools fundraising initiative, helping raise vital funds for children supported by Stewart House.

The raffle is more than a fundraiser. It’s a long-standing example of public schools supporting public school children, with every ticket helping provide health care, wellbeing support and positive life experiences for children who need it most.

A big thank you to Smart for sponsoring and arranging this year’s three terrific prizes, and to everyone who entered and supported Stewart House! 🤩

🙌We farewell students from Batemans Bay, Queanbeyan, and Bondi this group. It’s been wonderful to see such a great mix of regional and metropolitan students come together, build friendships, enjoy new experiences and take part in our comprehensive health and wellbeing program.

We wish every student a safe journey home and hope they leave feeling confident, inspired and excited for the future ahead. 🤩

Today we farewell a cohort of students from 32 public primary and high schools across the Central Coast. Over the past two weeks, they were greeted with outstanding, unseasonally warm weather. The children came together for a Stewart House program experience focused on supporting their wellbeing through health checks, emotional regulation, confidence building, and positive social connection. It is always powerful seeing children step into this space supported, relaxed, and ready to make the most of time away from their usual routines. 🙌

In a remarkable moment captured by our Stewart House School staff during a visit to Taronga Zoo Sydney, we share a photo that says everything about why these experiences matter. A split second that will stay with both the child and our staff for years to come, reflecting the power of creating lasting memories for the children in our care. One child. And a lion, staring straight into the lens. Curiosity, confidence, wonder and opportunity, all in perfect alignment. 😍🦁👦

As we reflect on Term 1, we recently farewelled children from 29 schools across the Bathurst–Orange–Lachlan region, on Wiradjuri Country.

Jack, our Aboriginal Education Officer, shared this history of Country:
“The Wiradjuri people are known as the People of the Three Rivers: Wambool (Macquarie), Kalari (Lachlan) and Murrumbidjeri (Murrumbidgee).” Their Country spans a vast area, from Gilgandra in the north to Albury–Wodonga in the south, and from the Great Dividing Range in the east to Hay in the west.

We closed out the term on a high note, with a fun visit from the Mounties Easter Bunny bringing plenty of chocolate, fluffy bunnies and smiles!

We’re now looking ahead to Term 2, as we prepare to welcome our next groups to Stewart House.

"Raise Your Flag" - Our Stewart House School is raising the flag as part of a Northern Beaches schools initiative run by local NRL club the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles in conjunction with local shopping mall . Our students in residence from around Bathurst and Orange could be in the running to win tickets to the next home game along with some other great prizes including Westfield Warringah Mall vouchers. We expect the competition from local schools to be tough, but we are giving it our best shot. Look at those faces enjoying the beach today! GO MANLY! 🦅

We’re excited to be part of the 2026 Manly Fun Run on Sunday, 19 April and we’d love you to join Team Stewart House.

Every charity supported by the Rotary Club of Manly receives 100% of their team’s entry fees back, so simply registering and running with our team helps support the children who attend Stewart House.

There’s also a little friendly competition. The charity with the largest team will receive an additional $1,000 prize from the Rotary Club of Manly.
