🔷 LIVING LATER LIFE WELL 🔷 CULCAIRN 🔷

The "Living Later Life Well" Seniors Week event held in Culcairn, organised by the Culcairn Local Health Advisory Committee (LHAC) with Sponsorship by Greater Hume Council was an informative session where attendees learnt the simple steps to get support to be able to stay in their own homes as they age.

Some key points were:

1. Apply for an assessment at myagedcare.gov.au/applyonline or by telephoning 1800 200 422 or by calling in at Services Australia (Albury branch located in Wilson Street, Albury, in the Centrelink/Medicare offices).

2. Have an assessment - An assessor will come and meet you in your home to discuss your day-to-day activities and areas you need help.

3. Costs - Services Australia will assess your Income/Means and let you know how much these services will cost you.

4. Service provision - Your assessor will match you up with service providers in your region.

🌟 Top Tips:
🔹Get the help of a family member or trusted advisor when going through this process.
🔹Be prepared and specify what you need to help with your day-to-day activities so that you can be matched with a service provider that best suits your needs; and
🔹Be aware of your financial situation, have as much information with you as possible before you attend an appointment with MyAged Care / Services Australia.

Culcairn LHAC welcomes highly experienced doctor to community

The Culcairn Local Health Advisory Committee is delighted to welcome Dr Toby Ezekwe, a highly respected and experienced medical professional to the community and as a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) at Culcairn Multipurpose Service (MPS).

A Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), Dr Toby brings more than two decades of diverse clinical experience across emergency medicine, general practice, chronic disease management, and skin cancer medicine to Culcairn and the surrounding communities.

With Dr Toby providing coverage at the Culcairn MPS, it is expected to further enhance the hospital's ability to provide high-quality, timely care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department.

In addition to emergency medicine, Dr Toby has built a strong reputation as the principal practitioner at Culcairn Mediclinic, a well-established medical practice serving the local community. His comprehensive knowledge of both acute and long-term care allows him to provide continuity and holistic care for patients, whether they are visiting the hospital or being managed in the practice.

The Local Health Advisory Committee (LHAC) are delighted to welcome Dr Toby to Culcairn MPS. His extensive clinical experience and his dedication to patient-centred care make him an asset to our hospital and the broader community.

Dr Toby has begun his role as a VMO and will be working closely with hospital staff to support seamless, integrated care for patients in the community.
