BRING A W**D in a bag.
On the 6th of December we will be having a w**d identification session at the Emu Creek Landcare shed on the New England Hwy. If you have a w**d you would like to see or identify, come along. Open to the public. It’s also the group’s Annual General Meeting.
Please consider volunteering for a position by replying by email if interested so we can make sure you are nominated.
The morning starts at 9:30am with a free morning tea.

We also have Christine Burke telling us about the progress on her Koala project, and Kylie and Kyle Grant talking about their experience with the product Method for lantana control.

Thanks to Heritage Bank for their sponsorship of this project. We’d also like to thank the small team of volunteers who took time out of their day to help with the shed installation. The group recently received support from Heritage Bank by receipt of a shade shed to house Landcare equipment which is hired out to Landcare members. This has made it much more convenient for people collecting and returning the equipment to the caretaker. The shade shed which is positioned in Pinelands, was delivered in kit form and was assembled by members of the Emu Creek Catchment Landcare Group. The member volunteers assisted over 3 days to erect the shed.

We are officially registered with Google Maps. Our field days at the shed will be easier to find.

INFO DAY on feral pig management and information on the new chemical for Lantana control.
The day will be on the 26th July starting at 9am at the Landcare shed on the New England Highway.
The day will also include an induction on the use of our hire equipment namely Quikspray units, Spreader and box thorn puller.

Great results obtained!
Emu Creek is in collaboration with Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) with significant success in a roadside lantana spraying project.
Chemical was supplied by TRC as part of their 2024/25 Environmental Grants program.
If you notice the lantana dying off in Drew Rd, Pierces Creek Rd, Coalbank Boundary Rd, Reinke Rd, Tarpaulin Rd, Dascombe Rd and the rest area on New England Highway, chances are its some of the work of our volunteer Landcare members have undertaken. This couldn’t be achieved without financial support from TRC.

“FARM INSURANCE INFORMATION NIGHT”
To be held at 6pm on the 7th April at the Landcare shed Emu Creek.
Colin from Fitton will be explaining the pitfalls of insurance from the farmers standpoint. This night will include a BBQ dinner. Everyone is welcome.
The group will be having the monthly meeting after the talk.
