Congratulations to Life Member Mal Butterfield being awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for his decades of dedicated service to surf lifesaving and charitable organizations.

This is a truly deserved recognition of the outstanding contribution Mal makes to our community.

While many people see your dedication and commitment, what often goes unnoticed are the countless acts of kindness and support you provide behind the scenes. You are always willing to help, always ready to lend a hand, and always working to connect people and maintain relationships for the benefit of others.

Your ability to bring people together, support those in need, and quietly make a positive difference without seeking recognition is something truly special. This honour reflects not only your service, but also your character, generosity, and unwavering commitment to helping others.

Congratulations on this wonderful and well earned achievement!

LOAF Commit to Another Season of Patrol Lunches
LOAF Sandwiches and Catering have re-committed to provide their delicious sandwiches for patrol lunches for the 2026/27 season. This is the third year that Loaf have supported our life saving patrols. Loaf’s support is worth $15,000 per season and is highly valued by our active patrolling members who work up a big appetite keeping our beach safe.

Pictured from left to right are Hannah Edwards (Loaf Catering Manager), Chris Barber (Club Captain), Chantel Toutounji (Loaf Owner) and Ken Rosebery (CSLSC Sponsorship) at the signing of next season’s sponsorship agreement.

LOAF not only make excellent coffee and sandwiches at their Cronulla and Engadine cafes but also provide terrific catering for home or corporate events. Loaf is worthy of your business because they do such a great and delicious job, as well as generously supporting our club. Thank you Chantel and team.

We were thrilled to welcome 37 students from the University of South Carolina to our club last week!
Our very own Chris Barber and Rodd Sanchez took the group through everything that makes surf lifesaving so special — from the rich history of Cronulla SLSC, to what it means to pull on the red and yellow and patrol our beaches, to the exciting world of surf sports and all the amazing pathways available through SLSA.
It was a fantastic exchange of energy, curiosity and passion — and a reminder of just how far the surf lifesaving story reaches around the world. 🌏
A huge welcome to our international visitors — we hope you leave with a little piece of Cronulla in your hearts!

Save Money on your Heating and Cooling
A tip from Endeavour Air Conditioning
As the weather cools down, heating costs can quickly add up. Our sponsor, Endeavour Air Conditioning — who generously maintain the Club’s HVAC systems as part of their support of the Cronulla Surf Club — suggest that one of the smartest ways to reduce energy bills is by upgrading to a modern reverse-cycle heat pump system. Today’s heat-pump style air conditioning systems are incredibly efficient, providing economical heating in winter and cooling in summer from the one unit. Compared with older electric heaters, they can significantly reduce power consumption while delivering better comfort throughout the year. If your home system is ageing, noisy, or expensive to run, now may be the perfect time to consider an upgrade before winter really sets in.

The CSLSC Pulse Annual Golf Day proved to be a standout event on this year’s calendar, delivering record attendance and fantastic community support. We had warm, sunny conditions that were perfect for golf and the day was sold out with 132 golfers, followed by an incredible 152 guests for lunch.
This flagship fundraising event would not be possible without the generous support of our major sponsor, Pulse Property, whose ongoing commitment continues to make a significant impact on our surf club. We also extend special thanks to John Mark Doors, a major supporter of the day, who sponsored four holes and entered multiple teams—an outstanding contribution that did not go unnoticed.
We were proud to have a strong group of hole sponsors supporting the event, including Auswide Roofing Solutions, CCNA, EOS Worldwide, Jaycee Building, Private Wealth Partners, and Xemplo Group. Their involvement helped create a vibrant and engaging course for all players.
Off the course, the auctions and raffles were a tremendous success, thanks to the generosity of many local businesses who donated an array of fantastic prizes. Notable contributions came from John Halpin Optometrist, Infront Surfcraft, Sydney Heli Tours, Cronulla Sutherland Sharks, Pulse Property, and Cronulla RSL. These prizes added excitement to the day and played a key role in boosting our fundraising efforts.
A special thank you goes to Pulse Property for providing their professional auctioneer, who kept the energy high and the bids flowing during the auction. We also extend our sincere appreciation to Mark ‘Simmo’ Simpson from Infront Surfcraft, who did an outstanding job as MC, keeping the day running smoothly and entertaining the crowd.
Of course, events like this simply cannot happen without the dedication of our volunteers. From early setup to coordination throughout the day, their hard work and commitment ensured everything ran seamlessly. We are incredibly grateful for their support.
While the official fundraising total is still being finalised for inclusion in our annual report, early indications suggest we are close to achieving a record-breaking result -an incredible outcome that will directly support the ongoing operations and development of our surf club.
Congratulations to our winning golf team from Onyxworks including Bryce Hopkins, son of Mark - who support the event with a team every year. Thanks Bryce and congratulations
Thank you again to everyone who participated, sponsored, donated, and supported the day. We look forward to building on this success at next year’s event.

The Today show came to Cronulla today on what was a perfect morning to showcase our club.
The show's weather man Tim Davies who grew up in Cronulla, interviewed Club President, Matt Aitken and Nipper Captain and Vice-Captain's Jackson Swingler and Fletcher Sellick during live crosses to our beach on this morning’s programme.
Matt spoke about our club and its history, the Nipper Captains spoke about what it was like to be a Nipper and the opportunities they have by being involved in our club.
Great day on the Esplanade with lots of locals watching on.
