Croki Flood Relief

Croki Flood Relief My name is Bianca and I’m here to ask for much needed assistance for the Croki Community on the mid north coast of NSW.

Croki has been severely affected by the recent floods with only 3 of the 28 homes not inundated by the devastating water.

Great to see Tanya Thompson MP is still fighting.

📜This morning I delivered a Notice of Motion in NSW Parliament, calling on the Minns Government to support small businesses in our Manning Region that are still trying to rebuild after the May flood event.

The Premier made a commitment to our communities and the increase in the Small Business Recovery Grant is long overdue. Our region needs this support now.

🚨 100 DAYS – OUR FARMERS & SMALL BUSINESSES DESERVE BETTER

💯 It’s now been 100 days since the devastating floods that tore through our communities, yet so many of our farmers and small businesses are still waiting for the help they were promised.

🐄 Less than a quarter of disaster grant applications have been approved, and the process has been slow, complicated, and distressing for people who have already lost so much. Farmers are being asked to pay upfront for fencing, cattle, crops, equipment and then prove expenses before receiving support, something many cannot afford.

❌ In Taree, the Premier stood with flood-affected business owners, acknowledged this was “worse than Lismore” and yet, 100 days later, our small businesses are still only eligible for $25,000, while farmers are forced to jump through endless hoops.

Our communities deserve help that is fast, fair and accessible so they can rebuild their lives and livelihoods.

Amazing Katie from Lake Macquarie had be busily making amazing quilts for our town since she heard about how badly the flood affected Croki. She made 30 in total! all with different designs and pattern. What an amazing personal gift to give. Thankyou beautiful Kay Bee for your thoughtful and caring gifts 🥰

We all thoroughly enjoyed welcoming Katie and Bruce over a Bbq lunch in the village green.
It was great to see everyone come together, relax and share stories. A bit of a light reprieve for the town, that everyone definitely needed.

Also thanks to Wangi Quilting Group and Boolaroo Orchid Society who generously supported Katies efforts.🙏
