Creswick Railway Workshops Assoc Inc - CRWA

Creswick Railway Workshops Assoc Inc - CRWA Creswick Railway Workshops Association Incorporated The CRWA was established as the community guardian of the heritage railway precinct Creswick Victoria.

VicTrack spent considerable funds making the buildings fit for occupancy. Hepburn Shire Council, VicTrack & CRWA have a lease agreement. There is an active workshop space in The Goods Shed. The main station buildings are used for community functions. There is an overall flexibility to use the CRW Precinct as an Art & Performance space. It is taking space as an exciting community hub. There was a really positive vibe at the New Residents Welcome on Saturday in the Seniors Centre Creswick. 25 Reps from 15 Associations, Clubs & Groups attended to spruik what they offer! Seven members from 4 local Agencies spoke about their purpose and role within the district : Thanks to Parks Vic, SES, CFA & VicPol. Hepburn Shire Councillors also attended : Mayor Cr Don Henderson, Deputy Mayor Cr Lesley Hewitt and Cr Shirley Cornish. The CRWA has facilitated this event with funding from the Shire through the grants program. The CRWA usually presents 3-4 of these Welcome Events per year, the next one to be held on the last Saturday in June.

The CRWA has been facilitating the free event - Welcome to New Residents, for many years now. The long-standing support of the local IGA and Real Estate Agents is really something special! It does not happen anywhere in the Shire. Here are some pics from 2018 to 2024 of the donated gift cards and gifts donated by these generous locals. I can say that it is a big surprise for new residents when they find out that the ticket that was given to them when they signed in, might be the one that gets pulled out of the hat for a special gift!!😍
