Congratulations to Olivia Kinnersly (Class of 2025) on being awarded one of only 18 Youthrive Victoria University Scholarships.

Selected from a highly competitive pool of over 300 applicants, this outstanding achievement is a reflection of Olivia’s dedication to her studies. We are incredibly proud to see her begin her journey in Medical Imaging at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga, as she works towards a career as a radiographer.

During her time at school, Olivia consistently demonstrated diligence, integrity, and a genuine commitment to excellence. We are confident she will carry these qualities with her as she launches into her field and this exciting new chapter.

We wish Olivia every success and look forward to seeing all she will accomplish.

Rural Chances scholarships provide $5,000 to help young people pursue training and qualifications, especially when it means travelling long distances or moving away from home.

So exciting! Go Emily!🥳

Benalla’s Year 12 students are set to benefit from the expansion of Youthrive Victoria’s Branch Out Mentoring program.

Benalla P-12 College 2025 graduate, Emily Hedt has taken on the new role to support Benalla’s young people as they contemplate life after school. Emily will work from the Tomorrow Today office once a week as she supports students in Year 12 at Benalla’s secondary schools.

Emily explained the role, “I reach out to high schools and I work with Year 12s mentoring them about life after school. So, teaching them about gap years, finances, digital well-being, just adulting in general.”
“All up there are six different sessions and students pick four that they want to do.”

Later in the year Emily will facilitate the series of workshops for Year 12 students. Each session is designed to help students build their confidence, gain valuable insights and learn new skills to help them as they transition from school to further study, apprenticeships or the workforce.

“It’s very broad, what I deliver but still enough to give a way forward for whatever pathway they want to do.”

We listened to last year’s Year 12s and refined our topics to focus on what matters most:

Youthrive's Branch Out Mentoring is peer-to-peer support from recent rural school leavers. These topics can be really tricky, so getting advice from someone that's been there is incredibly helpful!

Our RECs are already locked in to plenty of rural schools... We'll be seeing some of you as soon as term 1! 😉
