We run regular social events aimed at promoting visibility on campus and raising awareness to queer issues in the community.

The UWA Student Guild Pride Department provides a safe space for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer & Questioning UWA students

and Questioning students on campus, as well as a place where they can come and socialise together. Aside from that we run events also just to have a good time so that you can come and meet some new people! We welcome no forms of prejudice or discrimination and any issues will be dealt with swiftly. Everyone is welcome to use this space as long as they treat others with respect.

HISTORY PANEL | PRIDE WEEK 2026 🌈

Last week we held our LGBTQIA+ History Panel during Pride Week. We welcomed Louise Pratt, Maxine Drake, Paul Benson, Guy Gomez, Andrew Douglas and Graham Grundy to UWA Campus to share their experiences of activism and advocacy 🩷

PRIDE WEEK SCHEDULE

We are so excited to bring to your our biggest events of the year! This week is stacked with free activities for everyone. Coming up:

🌈MONDAY: Human Library Human Library Perth is bringing people with lived experiences of being LGBTQIA+ in effort to challenge stigma and prejudice. Engage in respectful dialogue and leave with a better understanding of what it means to be LGBTQIA+.
🌈TUESDAY: LGBTQIA+ History Panel, we have an amazing panel of guests who are sharing their memories of fighting for social and legal recognition in WA and broader Australia!
🌈THURSDAY: Pride Festival, a twilight market with Q***r owned businesses, food trucks and fun activities!
🌈FRIDAY: Pride Crafts, an afternoon of bracelet making, crochet and painting. All materials provided & snacks available.

Pride Quiz Night!
This years quiz will be held to raise funds for Wear it Purple Official 💜

Key details:
Date: 25th August, 6-8pm
Location: UWA Tavern

Come test your LGBTQIA+ knowledge across fields spanning pop culture to sports to history! Bring your friends and try to win our grand prize 🏆

Tickets are $15 each, but you can book in groups of 5 and 6 people for a discounted rate. Food is included in the price! Groups of less than 5, will be allocated with smaller groups to form a table.

Tickets must be purchased via Humanitix (link in our description) no door sales.

Wear your purple best and help us raise money for charity!🪻
