Walking in Jesus Steps "And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple" Luke 14 vs 25 - 35. Jesus explained what it means to follow Him in this passage. He told it will require sacrifice, resetting priorities and possibly severing friendships and relationships that might work against our walk with Him. All through human history, men who believed in God and lived their life based on their faith in Him have had to make difficult decisions between their faith and love for Christ and the comfort of human life. Moses chose between loving God's people, Israel or remaining a prince of Egypt. Father Abraham chose between staying in native and familiar Ur or journeying to an unknown and hostile Canaan. Like Paul, they did not confer with common sense (Galatians 1 vs 16 - 17). They moved by faith because we must live by faith in God and not by what we see, feel or reason. We trust God to protect us as we journey through life and He will as He did for all those before us. He never fails. Amen

Are there few that be saved?
Luke 13 vs 22 - 30
This question came from someone's curiosity. But the answer Jesus gave shows not all curiosity are productive. His answer tells us what is important- why not rather focus on you being saved?
Jesus said "Strive..." make effort to ensure you inherit eternal life. Salvation is free through the blood of Jesus (Ephesians 2 vs 8-10). But as John admonished, we should bring forth character befitting our faith (Matt. 3 vs 8 - 10). Our lifestyle should reflect repentance from ungodly works, otherwise we will be shut out of God's kingdom as Jesus and John warned from our passages. Our thoughtful actions and lifestyle based on our repentance and faith in Jesus will save us at last. Then we will be among those, few or many, that be saved. Amen
