Carols by Candlelight is tomorrow! 🎉

See you at Craigieburn Central Shopping Centre Car Park, from 5pm for pre-event activities and 7pm for the main stage performances 🎤🎵

Some key things to remember:
🎟 You don't need a ticket - the event is free and open to everyone
🎄 bring your own chairs and seating, there are no grassed areas suitable for picnic-style seating
🍦 pre-event activities will be from 5pm - 8pm
✨ the main stage performances will begin from 7pm ending in a fireworks finale at 9.20pm.

A re-elected Andrews Labor Government will make sure Victorian students who want to learn Hindi and Punjabi at school can do so.

Victoria has the highest Indian population in Australia – according to census data, there are more than 170,000 Victorians who speak Hindi and Punjabi in our state.

More than 20 languages other than English are taught at Victorian government schools - but there are limited options for students to learn Hindi and no schools offering Punjabi language study onsite.

That’s why a re-elected Andrews Labor Government will invest $3.5 million to create beacon schools to teach Hindi and Punjabi at VCE level.

This funding will support three schools to teach Hindi and Punjabi at VCE level. We’ll ensure there’s one school in the west, one in the north and one in the south east that teach each of Hindi and Punjabi, ensuring a broad geographic spread for students.

We’ll also invest $150,000 to deliver scholarships worth $15,000 each, to support Victorians who want to train and teach Hindi and Punjabi in our schools.

Only Labor is doing what matters. We have a proven track record of backing multicultural communities and we show our support not just with words, but with action.

Just in: A re-elected Labor Government will deliver better care for families in the north.

Through our $1 billion Hospital Plan for the North, we will upgrade the Northern Hospital at Epping and the Austin Hospital at Heidelberg.

At the Northern Hospital, a $770-$855 million investment will deliver:
- A new emergency department with dedicated waiting and treatment spaces for children
-A new tower for inpatients with more than 100 beds.

Under Labor, works on both hospitals will begin next year – creating an estimated 3,000 jobs during the construction period.

Only Labor is doing what matters.

Labor will make it free to study nursing and midwifery from 2023, helping to recruit and train 17,000 nurses and midwives.

👩‍⚕️ $16,500 scholarships that will deliver free nursing and midwifery degrees for students starting in 2023 and 2024.

👨‍⚕️ $11,000 scholarships to support enrolled nurses to become registered nurses for free.

🏥 Up to $15,000 scholarships for nurses to re-enter the workforce.
