Brethren,

You were there for his Initiation.
You were there for his Passing…
Now… it’s time for his Raising.

The Third Degree is a special moment for any Mason, but for a fourth-generation Freemason, it means even more. To share it in the presence of his great uncles and cousins makes it a truly memorable occasion.

Join Lodge Temora No. 168 and brethren from across the region as we raise Brother Barrass.

Lest We Forget.

Today, brethren from across the Central West region gather in their respective towns and services to pay their respects to all who have served our nation, and especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

We honour their courage, their service, and the enduring legacy they leave behind. May their memory live on in the values we uphold each day.

✨ Meet Lodge Canowindra! ✨
Today we’re shining the light on Lodge Canowindra No 478, one of the lodges that proudly makes up our Masonic family.

🔹 Who are we?
Lodge Canowindra is a proud country lodge with a strong tradition of community service and quiet charity. For over a century the brethren have worked behind the scenes to support local causes, assist families in need, and contribute to education initiatives. Like many regional lodges, it is built on close friendship, strong fellowship, and a commitment to helping the wider community.

🔹 What we do:
🏛️ Regular meetings on the Second Thursday of the month (except September)
🎩 Installation meeting is the Second Saturday in September
🤝 Fellowship & brotherhood among local and visiting brethren
❤️ Charity and community support across the district
📜 Masonic education & ritual

🔹 A little history:
Freemasonry became established in Canowindra in the early 1920s, with the lodge building constructed on Blatchford Street in 1923 to provide a permanent meeting place. At the time, the lodge reportedly had around 100 members, reflecting the important role the Craft played in rural communities of the era. Over the decades the lodge has supported numerous charitable causes and local families while continuing the traditions of Freemasonry in the district.
The lodge building itself remains a distinctive community structure and is recognised as a local heritage item within the Cabonne Shire area.

✨ Meet Lodge Canoblas Lewis No. 806! ✨
Today we’re shining the light on Lodge Canoblas Lewis No. 806, one of the lodges that proudly makes up our Masonic family.

🔹 Who are we?
Located in the regional city of Orange, Lodge Canoblas Lewis No. 806 enjoys a thriving and active membership. The lodge has met at the Orange Masonic Centre for more than 20 years, after moving from the original Masonic temple that served the Freemasons of Orange for many years. The lodge prides itself on strong fellowship, vibrant meetings, and continuing the traditions of the Craft in the district.

🔹 What we do:
🏛️ Regular meetings on the Third Monday of each month (Tyling at 7:30pm)
🎩 Installation meeting is the Third Saturday in June
🤝 Fellowship & brotherhood
❤️ Charity & community support
📜 Masonic education & ritual

🔹 A little history:
Lodge Canoblas Lewis No. 806 was founded in 1950 and is considered the “son” lodge of the earlier Lodge Canoblas. Interestingly, the original lodge’s charter contained a spelling mistake in the name “Canoblas,” and the same spelling was carried over when the new lodge was formed — a small historical quirk that has remained part of its identity ever since!

The lodge proudly celebrated its 75th Anniversary in 2025, marking three-quarters of a century of Freemasonry in Orange.

✨ Meet Lodge Dubbo 906! ✨
Today we’re shining the light on Lodge Dubbo 906, one of the lodges that proudly makes up our Masonic family.

🔹 Who are we?
Lodge Dubbo 906 is one of two lodges in Dubbo, working alongside Lodge Macquarie. With 17 dedicated members and regularly seeing at least 50% attendance at our meetings, we pride ourselves on strong participation, close fellowship, and a welcoming atmosphere. Our smaller size allows us to maintain a tight-knit lodge where every Brother plays an important role.

🔹 What we do:
🏛️ Regular meetings on the Third Monday of each month (Tyling at 7:30pm)
🎩 Installation meeting on the Third Saturday in June
🤝 Fellowship & brotherhood
❤️ Charity & community support
📜 Masonic education & ritual

🔹 A little history:
When one of our members joined in 1994, Dubbo was home to three lodges — Lodge Macquarie, Lodge Dubbo, and Lodge Talbragar Temperance (a daylight lodge). Since then, Lodge Talbragar has closed, leaving two active lodges continuing the Masonic tradition in Dubbo. Lodge Dubbo 906 has proudly served the region since 1956 and remains an important part of Freemasonry in the area.

Wishing all our members, families and friends a very Happy Easter 🐣🌿

Easter has long been a time of reflection, renewal and hope. Its traditions, from the sunrise gatherings to the sharing of eggs as symbols of new life, remind us that light follows darkness and that each new season brings fresh opportunity.

In Freemasonry, these ideas are close to our hearts. We are reminded to reflect on our own growth, to act with kindness and integrity, and to look for ways to bring light into the lives of others.

May this Easter bring peace, good health and renewed spirit to you all ✨

Today we’re shining the light on Lodge Allan Stuart No. 416, one of the lodges that proudly makes up our Masonic family.

🔹 Who are we?
Lodge Allan Stuart is known throughout the district for its genuine hospitality and the warm welcome extended to every visiting Brother. The lodge carries a unique and meaningful legacy; it is one of only two lodges under the United Grand Lodge of NSW & ACT named in honour of fallen WWI diggers. That spirit of remembrance, service, and fraternity continues to shape the character of the lodge today.

🔹 What we do:
🏛️ Regular meetings on the second Wednesday of each month
🎩 Installation meeting is the Second Saturday in May
🤝 Fellowship & brotherhood
❤️ Charity & community support
📜 Masonic education & ritual

🔹 A little history:
Lodge Allan Stuart was chartered in 1921, with strong support from neighbouring lodges. Its inaugural meeting took place on 19 April 1922, following a delay while members purchased land and constructed the lodge building.

The dedication of its members is evident throughout its history. The South (1979) and the Temple (1983) were rebuilt largely through the labour and financial contributions of the brethren themselves. A lasting testament to their commitment to the lodge and the Craft.

✨ A Night of Brotherhood, Growth & Community Spirit! ✨

Last night was one to remember in the Central West!

Lodge Canowindra No. 478 proudly conducted an Initiation Ceremony for Bro. Costello, marking the beginning of his Masonic journey. 🔨📖

In a powerful show of unity and support, Brethren from across the region travelled from 8 visiting lodges, including 3 sitting DGIWs, to witness and celebrate the occasion. 🤝 Your presence truly reflected the strength and connection of Freemasonry in the Central West.

But the good news doesn’t stop there…

Over the past 18 months, Lodge Canowindra No. 478 has demonstrated outstanding Masonic charity by generously donating the use of their lodge building to the local community . Serving as a temporary Library while the community library underwent repairs 📚.

Last night also marked a milestone. It was the final evening the library operated from the Lodge building, with the community set to return to their beautifully restored premises next month.🏛️

This is Freemasonry in action:
🔹 Supporting our Brethren
🔹 Strengthening our Lodges
🔹 Serving our Community

Congratulations to Bro. Costello on taking his first step, and congratulations to Lodge Canowindra No. 478 for exemplifying the true spirit of our Craft.
