Hard to believe, but this legend will be 94 on Sunday … so we had cake to celebrate!
For those who don’t know, John still comes into the shed a couple of days a week & is still very active - making all manner of things, helping & passing on his considerable knowledge.
Have a wonderful day on Sunday John & happy birthday from us all
(That’s not a black eye, just a shadow!)

Nola Dwyer happily taking possession of the magnificent salmon gum burl she recently won in our raffle. The burl was handed over by Peter Clews (who crafted it) & watched on by Lawrie Dwyer & Peter van der Vliet.

Huge thanks go to all who supported our shed by purchasing a ticket

Congratulations Nola Dwyer on winning the Salmon Gum Burl bowl made by Peter Clews

The sign on the skip states ‘Free Sawdust’ - something the shed provides for the community.
It definitely DOES NOT state ‘throw your used coffee cups, dog poo, tissues & any other rubbish items in here’ 😡😡
It’s no fun clearing this out!!

Dear Community

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of our dear friend and founding member, Keven Hopkins (Hoppy, Big Kev).

Hoppy was one of the driving forces behind the creation of the shed, helping turn a simple idea into the thriving community we enjoy today. From the very beginning, he gave his time, skills, and energy to ensure the shed became a place where our community could come together, share knowledge, and support one another.

Many of us will remember Hoppy for his steady hand in the workshop, his quick humour over a cuppa, and his genuine care for those around him. He embodied everything our shed stands for - mateship, generosity, and a sense of belonging.
His passing leaves a real gap in our shed family, but his legacy will live on in the friendships he built and the community he helped create.

On behalf of all members, we extend our deepest condolences to the Hopkins family and loved ones. We are grateful for the time we had with him and for the many ways he enriched our Shed and our lives.

May he rest in peace

Warm regards,

On behalf of the Cowaramup Community Men’s Shed Committee
