Breakfast at Barnett's

Breakfast at Barnett's On Fridays, from 7.30AM to 8.30AM, B&B holds themed get-togethers to provide constructive criticism of the Barnett Government on a variety of different issues.

See 'Description' for more information. Breakfast at Barnett’s began in February 2011 with the intention of holding it every Friday for 110 weeks, until the state election on 9 March 2013. B@B’s is an initiative of BUMP (Ban Uranium Mining Permanently). There have been a number of breakfasts dedicated to stopping uranium mining in WA. Other themes have been the need to preserve marine biodiversit

y, a refund scheme for drink containers, Keep Cottesloe Low, Save the Black-Cockatoos, no Fracking for WA. Many motorists toot if they approve of our stance. Sometimes we have a sign to toot to express approval. How do you 'Do a Breakfast?'

If you have an environmental or social justice issue that you would like to air before the next state election, please post your proposal to B@B’s page. The B@B co-ordinator will bring our banner. You should bring a banner or placards which succinctly summarise your issue. You can also hand out leaflets to motorists at the traffic lights, e.g. asking them to put in a submission against uranium mining, write to their MP about a container deposit scheme. (Some wind down their windows so you can pop in a flyer and a quick friendly word to them. Others will give you rude signs or grumpy looks or ignore you. There will always be at least ONE seasoned "Breakfaster" at the site to help you set up etc. Bring your own breakfast: Sometimes breakfasters bring a thermos of coffee or tea, and even a few muffins to eat. It really is a fun way to spread your message.
