Today we celebrate World Thinking Day 🌍💚

A day that connects girls (and former girls like me 😉) all around the world through friendship, leadership and community.

Founded by the amazing World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, this special day is all about reflecting on the impact of guiding and scouting across the globe — and how we can make the world a little better together.

It’s about:

✨ Empowering girls

✨ Building confidence

✨ Serving our communities

✨ Thinking beyond ourselves

No matter where you are today, take a moment to think about the power of unity, kindness and strong women lifting each other up.

💬 Were you ever a Guide or Scout? I’d love to hear your memories! 💙🌏

The Impact of World Thinking Day

Traditionally, members of the Girl Guides and Girl Scouts donate a gold coin to the World Thinking Day Fund.

This started in 1932 when Lady Baden Powell wrote to all members asking them to donate one penny. These days, we donate $1, even this will have a huge impact. Funds raised help to educate thousands of girls across the world.

World Thinking Day for us will be celebrated in Wagga. Ask your leaders for details.

South Australian farmer Harry Schuster has done it again! For the third year running, he’s used a tractor to plough a giant Australia Day tribute into his family’s paddock in South Australia. This year’s design is honouring the ANZACs, and he’s said the artwork should stay visible until around Anzac Day, because they don’t usually start seeding until after then.

In past years the scale of his work has been enormous:

2024: a giant Australia design/outline that took up roughly 50–60 hectares inside a 120ha paddock, created using GPS guidance and tilled lines — and it was only truly obvious from the air.

2023: his first big viral paddock artwork was a sunflower, which he hoped would get picked up on mapping/satellite views.

2025: he stepped it up with a giant Australian Coat of Arms, reported as roughly 600m x 900m in size.
