A Total Fire Ban has been declared for Southern Region and Flinders Municipality from 2am Saturday 10 Jan 2026 until 2am Sunday 11 Jan 2026.

All Blue Hills ranges will be closed during this time and can not be used

Centrefire and Rimfire welcome, chance to verify zero before engaging reactive steel targets from 200 to 500m.

Range officers will be on hand to assist with verification of load data and creating data cards

Tasmanian Heritage and Militaria Fair

Event Date: (29thth Setup) 30th November to 1st December 2024

Event Location: Quercus Rural Park 40m x 30m, Function Centre with commercial Kitchen, Bar, Meeting Room and surrounding grassed
areas. Optional use of function centre accommodation at rear or Camping in the grounds.

Event Highlights:
Historical Displays: The fair will feature a wide variety of historical displays, - Military vehicles - Artillery- Light Horse display- Medieval Armour- Sword fighting- Displays of historical significance Fi****ms

The IRB State Title nominations have closed and there are 15 shooters down to participate.

Former club member and IRB stalwart Jeff Robards is making the trip from NSW and we also have a nomination from Sisters Beach and one from Castle Forbes Bay. The club is represented strongly and it is brilliant to see we have four juniors shooting as well.
Juniors have their own categories but are also eligible for the State Title.

We have had wonderful support from local and interstate businesses, club members and politicians. Prizes now total over $1400.

We would like to acknowledge the following for their generous support:

Scoped Out in South Australia have donated over $500 in prizes to be shared among shooters. Great web site and online store.

Williams Outdoors New Norfolk - $300 in gift vouchers. Excellent online presence and generous with their time and support.

Shaun Sciberras - very supportive club member and offering car detailing valued at over $250.

Annette Moult - club member offering incredible support for juniors - over $200

Rod and Range Glenorchy - strong supporter of benchrest and a $100 for a junior shooter

In the coming days we will outline the prizes for each category and give an overview of each of our business supporters.

All range complexes are closed until this time and can not be used

📌 All fire permits are suspended, unless the fire is exempted.

📌 The undertaking of machinery operations is prohibited unless undertaken in accordance with the Tasmania Fire Service Machinery Operations Guideline.

➡️ If you’ve had a fire in the past week, please check it now to ensure it is fully extinguished.

➡️ If you live in a bushfire prone area please review your bushfire survival plan now, and keep up-to-date on changing conditions as the warm weather progresses.
