Launching Soroptimist International South East Asia Pacific Environment Campaign: Protecting Land, Oceans, and Livelihoods
For the women of the South East Asia Pacific (SISEAP), the environment isn’t just a backdrop—it is a lifeline. www.siseap.org
Across our diverse region, sustenance farming and fishing are the driving forces behind the economic empowerment of women. Soroptimist grass roots projects protect our oceans and preserve our soil, we aren't just saving ecosystems; we are directly safeguarding the financial independence, food security, and futures of women and girls.
While June gives us a dedicated platform to focus heavily on SISEAP grassroots environmental projects, our clubs practice and implement environmental action and meaningful change all year long. True environmental stewardship doesn't happen in just one month; it is a continuous, 365-day commitment. Throughout the entire year, members across our various clubs implement environment projects which drive communities to systematically change their behavioral habits to heal the earth.
This month, we challenge everyone to see environmental sustainability not just as a conservation goal, but as an economic foundation for women.
Follow our page all month long as we share resources, spotlight regional climate-resilience toolkits, and explore how we can Educate, Empower, and Enable women to lead sustainable land and ocean practices.
What environmental actions or SDG targets is your club tackling this month? Share your initiatives in the comments below!
