***Update

I tried not to share any distressing content, but please be mindful if you're looking at the photos that it is hard to watch and I don't just mean my bad photography. We are also taking a minimum intervention approach but will continue to monitor the birds to be sure.

A big thank you to everybody who went all out last night in support after I posted online.
We touched the soul of Jamie Johnston from Arbaron Tree Management Services who put his hand up to come all the way from Black Mountain. Jaimee has done rescues before and obviously enough times to handled it like a pro. Amazing to see how efficiently he just got up the tree and got back down with minimum stress to the watching parents. I feel very privileged to have met such a kind soul doing this animal rescue at his own cost.
He is passionate about wildlife and animal habitats so the magpie could not have been in better hands. You can hear Jamie talking to the baby magpie while he is climbing. Jamie said the nest was damaged and on its side explaining how the babies had fallen out.

I'd love it if people could share this post as a thank you to Jamie and just for that extra awareness of what a difference a person can make.
Many people said it would be a hopeless plight but even after 2 and 1/2 days hanging by one leg in the rain and wind this little magpie is in fantastic condition. The plan is to give the parent birds some time to reconnect and feed their baby today and the man-made new nest will be raised up into a nearby tree this afternoon. I hope to share some more photos and videos as this baby grows and thrives. The baby is being named after Jamie 😊
Thank you to Will from wildlife rescue in Noosa who couldn't be here in person but certainly went through all the motions from home including loading the whole vehicle up with all the gear in case he was needed today and calling in regularly to see how the bird was doing.

Jamie and his team are both knowledgeable and passionate about their work. They cared about our needs and advised us of best practice in terms of the long term health and appearance of our garden. We are so happy with the results - opening up the view and allowing light through to support the under-story and future growth of our trees. Highly recommended.

Before and after of light thinning of 2 Turpentines, Synacarpia glomulifera, to shed more winter sun into the home and vege patch🌳🌞
Please remember there is n need to cut a tree in half to gain a balance, lopping trees is a short term gain with long term cost and management, wont have a tree scream either 🪾🌳

Treating a Ficus cunninghamii stump with a more natural approach than glysophate, roots had advanced into the next door neighbors water tanks, roots had to be trrated naturaly to avoid contamination of drinking water.
