Team Two Dawgs – Winter Sh*tbox Rally Day 1 Complete

Well, we made it to Cobar!

The old girl didn't miss a beat all day – no issues to report, just plenty of kilometres, a few tins, and enough goats to start our own station.

We stopped in at the Black Stump and checked out what they claim is the tallest bar in the Southern Hemisphere. Whether it's true or not, it made for a good yarn.

Now it's time to grab a decent feed, sink a cold one, and get some shut-eye before we point the VS north and make our way to Charleville tomorrow.

Team Two Dawgs – Winter Sh*tbox Rally Day 1

Day one of the Winter Sh*tbox Rally is well underway!

Made it back to Hay for a quick stop at the silos before pushing on. We're rolling in Buddy Group 7 and so far everyone seems like a top bunch of people with a cracking sense of humour. That's one of the best parts of this rally – meeting great people all chasing the same goal.

We're aiming to finish up in Cobar tonight, so there's still a couple of hours on the road ahead of us, followed by a few well-earned beverages at day's end.

A massive thank you to everyone who's supported us, donated, followed along, and cheered us on. Every kilometre travelled helps raise money for cancer research, and we couldn't do it without you.

The old VS Commodore is still hanging in there, and Team Two Dawgs is loving every minute of it.

🐕 TWO DAWGS RALLY UPDATE 🐕

Well the Dawgs have finally had their first mechanical issue of the trip... and it turns out we weren't imagining things when we felt a bit light-headed.

After copping a face full of exhaust fumes for half the day, we worked out the missing muffler had the old VS trying to gas us out before we even made it to Mildura.

We rolled into Coonabarabran and pulled up at Barron's Tyre & Mechanical. Explained the issue and before we'd even finished the story, the legend behind the counter just said:

"Wheel her in boys, we got you."

Twenty minutes later the old girl was sorted, the exhaust fumes were gone, and we were back to breathing fresh air and daisies instead of premium unleaded and poor decisions.

A massive shout out to the crew at Barron's for getting us back on the road so quickly. Absolute champions.

🐕 TWO DAWGS RALLY UPDATE 🐕

Well ladies and gents, the Dawgs have made it to Coonabarabran for the night.

The old VS is still chewing up the kilometres without a complaint, which is honestly starting to make us suspicious. We were fully expecting to be parked on the side of the road by now scratching our heads beside the highway wondering where it all went wrong.

And before anyone asks... no, we didn't see the Pilliga Princess. We looked.

So it's time to shut the old girl down, and get some much-needed shut-eye before we point the bonnet towards Mildura again tomorrow.

Well ya mad bastards, Two Dawgs have officially crossed the QLD/NSW border!

The old girl is still barking along, still carrying more gear, p**s and poor decisions than she was ever designed for, and somehow she's still asking for more.

From Murgon to the border: 🔧 Mechanical failures: Sweet bu**er all

🐕 Dawgs accounted for: Both of us... somehow
💸 Money raised for cancer research: Bloody legends, every dollar counts

NSW, you've been warned. The Dawgs have arrived and we're heading south like a couple of feral wombats with no adult supervision.

If you spot a rough-as-guts VS Commodore looking like it escaped the wreckers and joined a charity rally, give us a flash, a wave or a blast on the horn. We might not be fast, we might not be smart, but we're having one hell of a crack.

Team Two Dawgs Rally Update #1

The Dawgs have officially escaped Murgon and limped their way into Dalby – somewhere around 155-185km depending on which bloke at the pub you ask.

The mighty VS is still firing, nothing has fallen off (that we've noticed), and spirits remain dangerously high.

🐕 Dawgs lost: 0
💰 Cancer research dollars raised: Growing
⚠️ Bad decisions: Imminent

Next stop: Mildura.

🐾🚗 TWO DAWGS – WE'RE OFF TOMORROW! 🚗🐾

Well, it's finally here. We leave for the Winter Sh*tbox Rally tomorrow!

Has it come around bloody quick? Absolutely.
Are we prepared? Not even close.
Are we excited? You'd struggle to find a word strong enough to describe it.

The car is packed, the stickers are on, the playlist is questionable, and all that's left to do is load a few cartons of tins to keep morale high and common sense low.

We've nearly hit our fundraising goal of $10,000, which is something we're incredibly proud of. To everyone who has donated, sponsored, shared a post or simply cheered us on – thank you. We couldn't do it without you.

If you've been thinking about throwing a few dollars our way, now's the time. Every dollar goes directly to cancer research and helps make a real difference.

We'll be taking the most direct route from Murgon to Mildura, stopping along the way to rattle the tin, tell a few stories, and hopefully rustle up a few more donations before the rally officially kicks off.
