What a great morning at Sky River Path parkrun! 🎉

👏 31 finishers crossed the line, including 14 males and 16 females, plus one unknown finisher.

With the first weekend of spring, there would be no better way of starting the weekend then with a Sky River Path parkrun!

The weather will be perfect, the Park is looking amazing, and the company will match!
See you at 7:45am tomorrow, at Neilson Park Coonabarabran.

Dolly will be our RD, so please let her know if you will be celebrating a milestone.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED THIS SATURDAY!

We’re looking for a few awesome volunteers to help make Sky River Path parkrun happen this Saturday.

Whether you’re a regular volunteer or you’ve never volunteered before, we’d love to have you join the team!

Volunteering is a great way to be part of parkrun, support our runners and still get that Saturday morning parkrun feeling.

Sky River Path parkrun #79 – Saturday, 29th August 2026

A fantastic morning along the river for Event #79! We had 23 finishers walk, jog, and run the 5km course at Neilson Park, supported by 10 dedicated volunteers.

Matt McCrea led the field home today as the first male finisher, crossing the line in 22:40. Abbigail Hunter was the first female across the line and second overall with a fantastic time of 23:05, taking out the highest age grade of the day at 66.28%. Three parkrunners smashed their previous best times today, with new Personal Bests set by Carmel Kennedy (25:33, continuing her strong form across 425 total parkruns), Matilda Varty (30:19), and Nicole Stone (30:41).

Congratulations to Colin for achieving his 50th parkrun today sporting the cape and our new milestone cards (thanks Dolly!)

In total, 23 participants completed the course today, comprising 13 males, 10 females.

This event was made possible thanks to our 10 incredible volunteers: Martin Rehwinkel, Oliver McDougall, Trisha Tighe, Zoe Holcombe, Jane Phillips, Anthony Prugger, Rachel Prugger, Harrison McDougall, Catriona Pascoe, and Tammy Rehwinkel.

Sky River Path parkrun would like to wish the best of luck to local runners, Kodi, Gary and Dolly who are competing amongst 40000 people in the Sydney marathon and supporting events this weekend. With the Sydney marathon recognised as the seventh of 'The World Marathon Majors', we are proud to have a local contingent representing our town in such a prestigious event. Good luck and best wishes to all of you!
