Happy Hump Day!

A reminder that parkrun Australia and the Queensland Government have partnered to celebrate Queensland Day this Saturday, 6 June in the best possible way—at parkrun.

We know Coomera parkrunners love any excuse to dress up, so to mark the occasion, we’re inviting everyone to turn maroon for the day! Maroon shirts, tutus, socks, or anything in between. Help us create a sea of Queensland colour at Coomera parkrun this Saturday.

parkrun Australia and the Queensland Government have teamed up to promote parkrun events as the best possible way to kick off Queensland Day this Saturday, 6 June.

We know Coomera parkrunners love nothing more than dressing up at parkrun, so as part of the celebrations, we are encouraging parkruns to turn maroon for one day.

Event #692 at Coomera saw something we haven’t seen for a very long time.
First time parkrunner Joey Tikitau took it out in P1.
He may have been lucky that most of the Highland Run Crew weren’t in attendance but a win is a win!
There were in fact 16 first timers today and 18 PB’s recorded out of our 111 attendees.
We find this time of year is great for PB’s with the cooler weather.

We are having issues with the photos so not sure when we might get them up. Working on it….

Timekeeper required!!
Hey Team, we know you all love to attend your parkrun at Coomera….BUT!
If we don’t have a Timekeeper it doesn’t happen!

At the moment that is the situation.

Good morning Coomera parkrun,
What a fantastic fresh morning.
You were keen to go, if it hadn't been for the waffling on Run Director. 😁

We had 118 of you grace us with your presence this morning, of which 12 of you for a first time at Coomera parkrun. Thank you so much for joining us. I am sure you will be back, and those of you with your local parkrun, will no doubt this one your home run now. Who wouldn't? It is after all world famous.

We had 14 PB's today! A champion effort and incredible effort as always. What you going to be like as it gets cooler?
We had one very quietly kept milestone today. 100 parkruns! I'll keep your name quiet as there was no huge commotion at the start, but a big congrats.

As always, a massive thank you to our wonderful volunteers, Matt L, Dave H, Ava M, Aaron R, Chantal B, Julie C, Stefan M, and Justin C. Can't do parkrun without you guys.

We have a few spots available over the coming weeks. Especially for a time keeper for next week! Send us a message and we'll add you on.

Otherwise, get out there! It's a beautiful day, and not currently raining, so enjoy, and.... see you, your family and friends next weekend.
