This NAIDOC Week, we're proud to join communities across Australia in celebrating the histories, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
At the Y NSW, we recognise that reconciliation is an ongoing journey. In the coming weeks, we’ll be launching our new three-year Diversity & Inclusion Strategy, which includes a dedicated First Nations pillar focused on:
🖤 Strengthening our engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
❤️ Building cultural understanding and capability across our organisation
💛 Renewing and implementing a Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP)
NAIDOC Week provides an opportunity for all of us to learn, reflect and deepen our understanding of First Nations cultures, histories and perspectives. We encourage you to explore the NAIDOC educational resources and events available throughout the week here.
You can also learn more about our RAP artwork by First Nations artist Cooper Thompson. The artwork reflects commitment to connection, community and our reconciliation journey, and remains an important symbol of the work we're doing together.
