Progress continues on the Nambour to Coolum Trail!
Our Joint Working Group is actively exploring funding options to progress planning and bring the trail closer to reality — with the aim of having it ready as a lasting legacy for the 2032 Olympics.
We’re hopeful Council and the State Government can partner on funding in the next financial year.

Key steps have been taken towards establishing a trail between the hinterland and the beach on the Sunshine Coast. A great meeting with Council and our Joint Working Group.
Council have received $5m in funding from the Blue Heart project for Tracks and Recreation Activities within the Blue Heart area. Some of this funding will allow for the N2C Trail planning and construction to actually commence.
Our objective remains to have the full N2C Trail to be built in time for the 2032 Olympics.

The people in this room can see a future where there’s a trail from Nambour to Coolum. 

Imagine riding, running or walking your way along the river, through wetlands and bushland. 

There’s a passion and drive to see this become reality, and the next step is a feasibility study to work out what route this might take. 

We will need support from all levels of government …. What a sensational legacy project this could be!

Sunshine Coast Council media update re the N2C Trail, following the meeting with our Joint Working Group of community members.

We eagerly await the allocation of funding and the start of planning, bringing us one step closer to making the N2C Trail a reality in time for the 2032 Olympics.

A new path has been laid for a future trail connecting the hinterland to the coast.

Peter Duffy from our JWG (Joint Working Group) spoke to Tim on ABC Radio about the N2C Trail and the need for more Active Transport options for the Coast, including safe bicycling routes.

The N2C Trail is gaining momentum!
The Council is actively seeking funding to advance planning for a 'hub and spoke' model. This could potentially create a 50km trail network connecting Nambour, Bli Bli, Coolum, and surrounding areas.

It was great to meet with you and Council Officers to hear an update on the Project status and what is needed to progress through the planning, design and construction of the Trail.
