🚒 Coolgardie VFRS Annual General Meeting 🚒

On Saturday , 20th June, the members of Coolgardie Volunteer Fire & Rescue Service came together for our Annual General Meeting, where we reflected on another year of service and looked ahead to the future of our brigade.

We are delighted to congratulate and warmly welcome our 2026–2027 office bearers:

🔥 Captain: Steven
🔥 Lieutenants: Churchy & Jayden
🔥 APPS: Tenielle, Gordon & Madi

Thank you all for putting your hands up to lead our brigade. Your commitment, dedication and willingness to serve both our members and the Coolgardie community are truly appreciated, and we know you’ll do an amazing job in your respective roles.

We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our outgoing office bearers for their hard work, leadership and countless hours of service to our brigade.

A special thank you goes to Bill, who has stepped down from his role as Lieutenant. Your leadership, knowledge and dedication have made a lasting impact on our brigade, and we are incredibly grateful for everything you’ve contributed over the years. While you’re stepping away from the Lieutenant role, we’re so thankful that you’ll continue to be one of our valued core volunteers. Your ongoing support means the world to us.

Here’s to another year of teamwork, training, friendship and proudly serving our wonderful Coolgardie community. Congratulations to our new office bearers, and thank you to every member who continues to make our brigade such a special team. ❤️🚒

🔥 A huge congratulations to one of our own, Jack Nowlan! 🚒

From competing on the competition track to working his way through every stage, Jack has officially achieved his dream of becoming a Career Firefighter.

Jack’s dedication, determination and hard work have paid off, and we couldn’t be prouder to see one of our Coolgardie VFRS members take this incredible step in his firefighting journey.

On behalf of everyone at Coolgardie VFRS, congratulations Jack! We wish you every success in your career and have no doubt you’ll do an amazing job.

You give your time, your energy, and your hearts so selflessly, and our town is safer and stronger because of you. From fighting fires to helping neighbours in their toughest moments, your dedication never goes unnoticed.

During Thank a Volunteer Week, we also extend our gratitude to volunteers right across Australia. Whether you serve in emergency services, community groups, sporting clubs, schools, charities, or behind the scenes in countless other ways — thank you for the difference you make every single day. Communities everywhere are stronger because of people like you. 💛

🔥 Last week our members from Coolgardie Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service teamed up with our mates from Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions to assist with mitigation works along the Coolgardie–Esperance Highway.

Usually we’re busy putting fire out… so it was a nice change to finally be allowed to play with fire for once 😅🔥

A great day working together to help reduce fuel loads and keep our community and travellers safer heading into the season ahead. Thanks to DBCA for having us along and for the teamwork throughout the day! 👨‍🚒🚒

Today, on International Firefighters’ Day, we pause to honour the courage, commitment, and sacrifice of firefighters across the world.

Here at Coolgardie VFRS, we are proud to stand alongside those who dedicate themselves to protecting their communities—often in the face of unpredictable and challenging conditions. Whether it’s responding to fires, assisting in emergencies, or supporting our town in times of need, our volunteers show up with strength, resilience, and heart.

We also take a moment to remember those who have lost their lives in the line of duty. Their bravery will never be forgotten, and their legacy continues to inspire us every day.

To our members, past and present, and to firefighters everywhere—thank you for your selflessness, your courage, and your unwavering commitment to keeping others safe.

A huge congratulations to our very own Shane Munro, who has been recognised for his incredible commitment and dedication to the running side of the brigade for over 40 years.

Shane has now been awarded Lifetime Membership of the WAVFRS Association, a truly well-deserved honour that reflects decades of service, passion, and drive.
