A big thank you to all our amazing members who generously gave their time over the weekend to help make the Coolangatta Gold a success!

Not only is the Coolangatta Gold a fantastic event for Surf Lifesaving, but it is also one of our Club's major fundraisers, helping us continue the important work we do.

From the BBQ to hydration stations, catering, crowd management and pack-up, every helping hand made a difference!

Events like this simply wouldn't be possible without the dedication and support of our wonderful members.

💓 Restart a Heart Day 2026 💓

Today, Coolangatta SLSC is proudly supporting Restart a Heart Day, an important initiative raising awareness of how early CPR and defibrillation can save lives.

A cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any time. Immediate action from bystanders gives the best chance of survival.

🚨 Key messages:
❤️ Early CPR and defibrillation save lives
📚 Anyone can learn basic life support skills
⏱ Every second counts in an emergency

❤️💙 What do you do when the GC50 Marathon shakes up your usual Nipper plans… you team up with your friends!

With our Nippers area out of action last Sunday, we joined forces with our friends at Pacific SLSC and Rainbow Bay SLSC for a combined Nippers morning!

A huge thank you to Rainbow Bay SLSC for welcoming our littlest Nippers (U6–U9s) and Pacific SLSC for hosting our U10–U14s.

Our Nippers had a fantastic morning, making new friends, enjoying a change of scenery and experiencing Nippers at a different beach! ☀️🌊

What a great example of the friendships and community spirit that make surf lifesaving so special!

👏 A huge congratulations to Pippa who recently won the Youth Leadership Award at Leon Rebello's 2026 McPherson Honours.
Pippa is a Nipper Captain at Coolangatta SLSC and a young Lifesaver who has contributed more than 52 patrol hours during the season. Pippa assists in many areas of our club including patrol, water safety, Nippers, youth development and fundraising activities. She demonstrates leadership and a strong commitment to serving others.

💙 WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY | 10 OCTOBER

At Coolangatta SLSC, we know the power of community 🌊

Sometimes it’s a chat on the beach, a training session with your mates, a helping hand at patrol, or simply checking in with someone who might be doing it tough.

This World Mental Health Day, we’re reminded that together we thrive. Connection, belonging and looking out for one another can make a real difference to our mental wellbeing.

So, check in with your mates, start a conversation and remind someone that they’re not alone💙

Let’s keep looking out for each other, on the beach, around the club and beyond.

🌊 Raising of the Flags 2026 🌊

Last weekend officially marked the start of the 2026/27 patrol season at Coolangatta SLSC with our annual Raising of the Flags Ceremony.

The Patrol, Australian, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags were proudly raised as we welcomed members, VIPs, and our community back to the beach for another season.

A special thanks to Erica Eurell for delivering a heartfelt Welcome to Country, and to our wonderful VIPs including Jared Clark Point Danger Branch President.

Remember — this summer, stay safe and always swim between the red and yellow flags.

🌊☀️ WE’RE BACK ON THE BEACH! ☀️🌊

The red & yellow returns this weekend at Coolangatta SLSC! 🚩

Join us at 8am Saturday for the raising of the flags as we kick off another summer of keeping our community safe. 🏖️

Our members have been busy:
💪 Brushing up their skills at annual proficiency days.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Age Managers trained, upskilled & ready
🏄‍♂️ Nippers starts next Sunday morning — we can’t wait to see our future lifesavers back on the sand & it's not too late to join in on the fun!

Whether you’re a local or just visiting, the safest place to swim is between the red and yellow flags. Let’s make it another safe, fun summer at Coolangatta SLSC. 💛❤️
