It was another great morning at our regular Wednesday Shine On Wollumbin gathering, held each week at Condong Bowling Club.
With nearly 40 of us gathered, including attendees, volunteers and musicians, there was a wonderful vibe in the room.
Someone came up with the great idea of putting song numbers into a “music jar” and randomly selecting them, which meant we enjoyed a wonderfully eclectic mix of songs — from Danny Boy to Try a Little Kindness, Bye Bye Baby Goodbye, Blowin’ in the Wind, All I Have to Do Is Dream, Smile, You Are My Sunshine, and many more.
With the roving microphone making its way around the room, we also discovered that the iconic Louie the Fly advertisement was written by none other than Bryce Courtenay. Who would have known?
Ian, Phil, Dede and Trish were out the front keeping things moving, while our fantastic attendees Mary, Kath, Bev, Betty, Elle and Sandra helped with setting up and making sure coffees and teas were delivered in time for morning tea.
It’s wonderful to see the volunteers within the group working so well together and contributing to making Shine on Wollumbin such a success.
A big thank you, of course, to Dave and the team at Condong Bowling Club for generously providing the venue for us at no charge. And thank you to our wonderful musicians and volunteers for everything you contribute each week.
And, of course, a special mention to JT’S Kitchen for baking our delicious scones each week. They really are a hit! 😋
We look forward to seeing everyone again next Wednesday.
See you then! 🎶
