πŸ’š It's official β€” you are changing lives.
New national research by Scouts Australia and Resilient Youth Australia confirms what we see every day: Scouts are resilient.
By comparing 47,000 Scouts aged 8–18 with more than 110,000 young people across Australia, the research shows that Scouts are:

βœ”οΈ 20% more likely to face up to problems

βœ”οΈ 13% more likely to help others

βœ”οΈ 10% more likely to get along with different people

βœ”οΈ 10% more likely to feel good about themselves

βœ”οΈ 23% more open about how they're feeling

This doesn't happen by chance.

To our Leaders, volunteers and supporters across WA β€” your leadership inspires others. Whether at Group, District or State level, you create safe, supportive environments where young people build confidence, resilience and skills they'll carry for life.

SCOUTS WA ONECAMP 2026 DISCOVER HIGH SEAS EXPEDITION on board STS Leeuwin II!

REGISTRATIONS CLOSING SOON.

As part of OneCamp 2026, the Boating Team have set up the Discover High Seas sailing expedition on STS Leeuwin II.

We will be voyaging from Busselton to Perth, arriving in Freo Harbour in time to then continue on to OneCamp 2026. Based on our experienced from the Leeuwin - Catalpa Escape Expedition for OneCamp 2023, this will be another brilliant adventure on the High Seas!

Things you may not know:
1. ARE THE BOOKINGS FULL?
No, there are still some spaces available for late registrations for our Leeuwin Expedition, but the closeoff date is Nov 30th, so you'd need to get in quick!

2. DO I HAVE TO ATTEND ONECAMP 2026 AS WELL?
No, you don't have to be taking part in the main camp part of OneCamp 2026 to register for this voyage.

3. IS IT ONLY FOR VENTURERS?
No, Venturers, Rovers, and Leaders can also register to take part.

4. DO I HAVE TO KNOW HOW TO SAIL?
No, we will teach you anything you need to know.

5. DO I NEED TO BE ABLE TO CLIMB UP THE RIGGING?
No, we adapt the program to cater for all abilities, though you do need to be fairly fit, and willing to put in your best effort every day.

6. I DON'T KNOW ANYONE ELSE GOING, AND I'M WORRIED I WON'T MAKE ANY FRIENDS
Leeuwin trainees are organised into "Watches" of 10, like the Patrol System, but with bigger numbers. Everyone on board will get to know new people and make lots of friends on board, it's load of fun and we work together to steer and sail the ship.

7. HOW DO I FIND OUT MORE?
Email [email protected] to ask questions about the voyage.
Get more info about OneCamp, Registrations, and Expeditions on the OneCamp 2026 website, the url is in the Comments field below.

Last weekend was a big day for her. After a few months on land getting some extra work done she was keen to hit the water! Plenty of helping hands helped to push her to the river's edge, and after a short pause for a group photo, in she went!

Many thanks to all our youth members and Leaders that came along to help get her back in the water. Sailing experience days for Joeys and Cubs are fully booked for Term 4, so everyone is keen to get aboard Scouts Eco Cat.

If you're on the river, look out for her on most Sundays, sailing between Como and Applecross.
