Today marks the commencement of Gavin Satie's appointment as Chief Commissioner of Scouts WA.

With a lifelong commitment to Scouting, Gavin brings a wealth of experience, passion, and dedication to this role. Together with the Executive Leadership Team, he will lead Scouts WA into its next exciting chapter, strengthening our organisation, supporting our volunteers, and creating more opportunities for young people and volunteers to develop skills and experiences for life.

Gavin looks forward to working alongside our members, volunteers, families, and communities across Western Australia as we continue to build a vibrant, inclusive, and future-focused Scouting movement.

Counting down now to departure date for our trip to Denham and the 2026 Shark Bay Sea Trek. Eighteen youth members and six leaders are packing their stuff and preparing their minds and bodies for a week away under sail and canvas.
The event will see 5 small sailboats on the waters of Shark Bay for five days, sailing during the day and beach camping at night. Where they go will depend on weather and tides, so it will be a fantastic adventurous challenge that they should remember for a lifetime.

To all of our fellow Adventurous Activities Teams! Excellent work, everyone, your efforts are recognised and appreciated!

As part of Volunteer Appreciation Week, we would like to take a moment to recognise and thank all of the Adventurous Activity Teams across Scouts WA for the incredible work you do for young people throughout our state.

From ropes and paddles to bows and arrows, training days, and everything in between, the time, effort, and dedication you give as volunteers create opportunities that truly change lives. Your commitment allows youth members to step outside their comfort zones, build confidence, develop leadership skills, and experience adventure in a safe and supportive environment.

Behind every successful activity, expedition, training course, and event is a team of passionate volunteers giving up their own time to make it happen. The countless hours spent planning, maintaining equipment, mentoring participants, managing risk, and supporting one another do not go unnoticed.

Thank you for the early mornings, late nights, weekends away, and the continued passion you bring to adventurous activities within Scouts WA. The impact you have on the youth of today is significant, and the memories and skills you help create will stay with them for years to come.

Your dedication, professionalism, and willingness to give back to the scouting community are deeply appreciated. Thank you for everything you do. 💙

Discover High Seas with Scouts WA on board STS Leeuwin II - HIGH ENERGY on the HIGH SEAS!

- Venturers, Rovers, and Leaders will voyage on STS Leeuwin II for OneCamp 2026 in April 2026.

Places are still available, and you don't have to attend the main OneCamp event, you can just sign on for the voyage.
