The Reach Foundation

The Reach Foundation Reach supports young people to get the most out of life. Our youth-led workshops are for any young person between 10-18 years of age. Sorry guys!

We aim to improve the wellbeing of young people so they can be healthy and resilient to meet life's challenges, and fulfil their potential. Please note, Reach Crew and Staff aren’t allowed to accept friend requests from Reach participants on Facebook. This is our Social Media Policy, it’s designed to help protect the privacy and safety of both our young people and our Crew. So if you’ve been to a Reach workshop and want to stay in touch, hit ‘Like’ on this page and we’ll keep you in the loop with all things Reach!

Meet some more of our incredible facilitator team and hear from them about their experience in the Crew Program!

Meet one of our incredible senior facilitators and future reality TV star, Josh!

Josh started out with us in 2015 after a school workshop allowed him to talk honestly about his life for the first time. Since then, Josh has become one of the great Reach facilitators, running incredible work no matter what room he walks into.

Josh has recently undertaken one of his most exciting and most challenging experiences yet, and is set to appear on Australian Survivor in 2027!

There is much more to Josh than we could show in two minutes, so leave your questions and curiosities in the comments below and he might just answer them. 🤫

If you want to get Josh (or some of our other incredible facilitators) running work at your school, head to the link in our bio!

With our next Search day RIGHT around the corner, we thought we’d ask some of our facilitators what they loved about their crew experience at Reach!

Every one of our facilitators started out through our crew program, and now get to run workshops all around Australia!

If you are 15-23 and want to join our crew, sign up for the Search through the link in our bio! (Last chance!!!)

Congratulations to Jules Lund and Catriona Rowntree for winning on Tipping Point Australia and raising $17,700 for Reach!

For Jules, whose connection to Reach began at our very first workshop, it was a true full-circle moment:

“So much of what’s good in my life wouldn’t exist without Reach. I certainly wouldn’t have had the confidence to pursue a career in television. Now, to appear on TV alongside Catriona, one of the all-time greats, and compete to raise money for Reach feels like a beautiful full-circle moment.”

Thank you, Jules and Catriona, and everyone who supported Reach!

We have a Grounded workshop coming up next week on Thursday 24th September! There’ll be free lunch, and opportunities for young people to connect and engage that they may not get in their day to day.

Grounded is designed for young people who may be displaying challenging behaviours, becoming involved in anti-social activity, associating with negative peer groups, or who are at risk of disengaging from positive pathways within their school and community.

If you are a parent, teacher, mentor, coach or just know someone who would get something out of this FREE workshop, sign up is in the link in our bio!

Today is RUOK day, but today is not the only day to ask that question, it is a reminder to check in on the people in our lives.

The people who need support most aren’t always the people you’d expect.

That’s why checking in matters.

A simple conversation can help someone feel seen, heard and supported. So today, and every day, take the time to ask the question, listen without judgement, and let people know they’re not alone.

Because “Are you okay?” can make a real difference.

What started as a rowdy group quickly became a room willing to listen.

One young man spoke honestly about how stereotypes can stop men from opening up.

He shared that strength shouldn’t mean staying silent. It should mean caring for others and taking responsibility for how we treat people.

That one moment changed the room.

More young men began opening up about their experiences, challenges, and emotions. They saw that having these conversations can positively impact both themselves and those around them.

We started by discussing stereotypes about masculinity. We finished by creating our own set of values, principles for the kind of men and people we want to be.

Stereotypes don’t disappear overnight. But conversations like these remind young men that they aren’t alone, and that they can choose who they want to be.

What a month!

In August, we delivered workshops across Victoria and NSW, worked with schools and communities in South Sydney, Barrenjoey, Moruya and Dapto, and continued investing in our team through New Crew, Junior Crew and Facilitator training.

A huge thanks to everyone who was part of our August.
With Term 4 just around the corner, now is the perfect time to book your school and help us continue making an impact.
