Please join us for our AGM next Sunday march 15 at the Freycinet golf Club.
Would you like to join our committee and help to make Swanwick more liveable for residents, tourists and workers in the Coles Bay area?
We’d love to see you at our AGM.
There will be guest speakers helping to answer your questions about bushfire readiness.
We’ll also have a Sharing Table . If you have any excess veggies, fruit, preserves etc we’d love you to bring something to share/swap.

Working Bee at the Community Garden tomorrow Friday 30 Jan , 4-7 pm.
We’ll fire up the barbie so bring your preferred protein and drinks and we’ll provide salad, sauerkraut, bread and condiments

Hi Swanwick people,

We are thrilled that Sharon Flynn, author and fermentation expert, has offered to run a free Fermentation workshop this Sunday Aug 10 at 1130 .
Venue to be advised on registration .Sharon is a great supporter of community gardens and is donating her time and also a giant crock to make a community sauerkraut. We’ll get to share it once its finished transforming into probiotic deliciousness!
We’ll also make a wild drink that you’ll be able to take home on the day !
Sharon is a producer and also teaches nationally and internationally . We are so fortunate that she is gifting us this fabulous event.
Registrations essential as numbers are limited.

Hi everyone,
The Swanwick Community Association is getting together a wishlist that we can use to guide our activities and also our approach to council and funding agencies.
Let us know your thoughts !
Then we can look at feasability and set priorities.
Some ideas already suggested are soccer nets, walking/cycle trail between Swanwick and Coles Bay , more seating at the rec ground, basketball net, rock climbing wall .
Hit us up with your ideas ! Could be footpaths, landscaping, better beach access….I’m sure you’ll have ideas we haven’t even thought of .

Hi everyone,
We had a fantastic gathering to officially open the community garden on March 31 and also to celebrate getting to know our neighbours. The event was funded by the healthy fund Tasmania and administered by . Thank you so much for this support to bring our community together .
Despite the cool conditions and earlier threat of rain we had around 100 people enjoy a shared meal .
I’m still getting permission slips to post photos so hope to have some up next week.
Thank you to everybody who helped. It was such a happy event and we hope more people will become involved with the garden. No gardening experience necessary !!
We also acknowledge the wonderful support we have had from our foundation sponsor ,Tas Networks.

A reminder that our gathering to celebrate the official opening of our community garden is on this afternoon from 4-7 on. byo drinks . . Parking is on the street.
Xan Nunn has generously donated some of his fabulous linocut prints to sell. $300 each with all money going to the garden.
We’ll also have Col’s beautiful boards and some plants available.
Cash or bank transfer please
We are absolutely blown away by the generosity of people in this community !
Thank you to the Tasmania healthy fund for sponsoring this event along with our community fundraisers.
Remember to dress for the conditions !
And it’s Open Mic at Big Pete’s for those who would like to kick on afterwards
