Since its formation in 1984, thousands of students have enrolled for lessons, courses, ensembles and workshops at the Conservatorium or within school-based programs managed by the Conservatorium. experienced the joy of music as a form of personal creativity and expression. A wide range of music styles and programs are offered, to suit students of all ages, levels of expertise, musical experience and creative aspiration. Music doesn’t just play, it stays. 🎵

It’s the song that takes you straight back to a moment in time.
The one that gave you goosebumps.
The lyrics you didn’t realise you still knew off by heart.

Music has a way of becoming part of us. Our memories, our confidence, our creativity, our connection to others.

And we get to witness that every day here at Coffs Harbour Regional Conservatorium - from tiny hands learning their very first notes to adults rediscovering a love of music they thought they’d lost.

That’s the beautiful thing about music.
It stays with us long after the moment ends.

“Isn’t the Conservatorium all about classical music?” 🎶

No, absolutely not.

Here at the Con, we love jazz, folk, blues, soul, R&B, rock’n’roll, hip hop and a whole heap of other genres just as much as we love classical music.

But more importantly, we focus on what YOU want to play, sing and create.

Whether you want to learn your favourite songs, join a band, build confidence, perform on stage, explore classical music or simply learn for the joy of it, we’re here to support your musical journey.

Every student is different and that’s exactly how we believe music education should be. ✨

Sunday Series | Grigoryan Brothers 🎶

Join us for our Sunday Series | 14 June at 2pm with Slava Grigoryan & Leonard Grigoryan.

With a repertoire spanning centuries, continents, and genres, displaying amazing telepathy and the ability to evoke emotion from every note, the Grigoryan Brothers are justifiably regarded as Australia’s finest classical guitarists.

Throughout their musical journey spanning over two decades, Slava and Leonard have forged connections with like-minded souls worldwide. Each track on Amistad, released by Decca, is a gift from composers met during their travels, some tailored specifically for the brothers, while others find new life through their unique interpretations.

Contributions have come from such diverse composers as Leo Brouwer, Ralph Towner, Dominic Miller, Gus Isidore, Luke Howard, Nat Bartsch, and more.

Crafted with love, respect, and a profound understanding, these compositions symbolise the reciprocal appreciation between the composers and the Grigoryan Brothers. Amistad, meaning ‘friendship’ in Spanish, is a celebration of camaraderie - a project resonating with respect and connection, a heartfelt tribute from the brothers.

This performance will feature music from Amistad and favourites from their past recordings.
