This week, the Coffs Harbour Hospital Branch delegates of the NSWNMA made the most of our first day of Union Delegate Activity Time (UDAT) leave, coming together to hold a branch meeting, speak with members, meet with facility Executive, and complete important branch administration duties, all during paid work time.
This entitlement was won through the collective strength of union members and recognises the vital role delegates play in representing, supporting and organising nurses and midwives in their workplaces.
Having dedicated time to connect with members, address workplace issues, build our branch and strengthen communication makes our union stronger. It allows delegates to be more effective advocates and better support the members they represent.
We're excited to have already locked in dates to take this leave together every eight weeks, ensuring regular opportunities to engage with members, develop our branch and continue building collective power.
This is what union wins look like, creating the time and resources needed for delegates to do the important work of representing nurses and midwives.
Stronger delegates. Stronger branches. Stronger union πͺ
