ANCC had the privilege last month to launch our first workshop "How to look slowly" on a Sunday morning at YAM with Joanne Rhymer, Arts historian at the National Gallery in London, followed by a stunning talk on "Paris and Impressionism" on Monday evening. Both days have been amazing and well appreciated by our audience. Thanks Jo for opening our eyes and taking time to immerse ourselves in a world of colors, senses, and impressions.

Thanks to Annie and her dog, Roxy, who has introduced our audience to another fabulous lecture by Steven Miller: Dogs in Australian Arts. As a faithful companion to artists, dogs have been present in their lives and under their paintbrush, sharing their solitude, giving them comfort, unconditional love and inspiration. Thanks Steven for sharing with us your passion for those furry friends 🐶

A few committee members of ANCC were in Bellingen today to support our chair, Annie Talve who was part of the jury for the EJ Mantova Art Price 2026. It is amazing to see so many local talented artists living in our area.

What a life of great achievements in creative engineering Ian Swankie has presented to a captivated audience last Sunday. Nothing was too big, too difficult, too challenging, too audacious for this little man with a big hat named Isambard Kingdom Brunel. From the age of 17 when Brunel helped his father to build the first tunnel under the Thames to the end of his short life, he has imagined and constructed tunnels, bridges, railways, ships and the magnificent Paddington Station. Most of them are still part of the British landscape. Thanks Ian for this fascinating talk delivered with great humour and passion.
