CWA Cockburn is delighted to present Afternoon Tea with Local Authors featuring talented WA writers Holly Craig and Libby Iriks.

Enjoy a delicious afternoon tea while hearing from two incredible authors whose stories are inspired by the people, landscapes and communities of Western Australia. Books will also be available for purchase on the day.

Your ticket includes afternoon tea, with all proceeds supporting the local women’s refuge. There will also be raffle prizes, homemade crafts and goodies available for purchase.

Today marks the start of National Volunteer Week. We’re celebrating the amazing people who generously give their time, care, skills and heart to our community. 💙

This year’s theme, “Your Year to Volunteer,” recognises that every contribution matters and encourages people to get involved in ways that work for them.

Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. From organising events and supporting fundraising efforts, to baking, crafting, creating connections and giving their time to local Cockburn organisations.

We are incredibly grateful to every member and volunteer who continues to share their time and talents so generously. Their kindness and dedication make a real difference.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us on Saturday 9th May for our Mother’s Day event. It was a truly special day filled with laughter, conversation, music, dancing and community spirit.

Thanks to the amazing support of our community, we are thrilled to share that the event raised an incredible $3700, all going to local charities 🎉

Morning guests were treated to the beautiful voice of Amelia Radcliffe, while our afternoon session came alive with Selina Colebourne’s vibrant belly dancing performance — with plenty of attendees jumping up to join in the fun!

There was tea, coffee and delicious homemade treats prepared by our talented members, and the raffles were a huge success with so many lucky guests taking home prizes 🫖

We were overwhelmed by the love shown to our craft and plant stalls, with so many thoughtful purchases made for gifts (and a few treats for yourselves too!).

We appreciated our special guests Mayor Logan Howlett and his wife Pat, Felicity Edwards - CWA of WA State President and CEO Trish Langdon joining the festivities 💙

We are grateful for the support of the City of Cockburn and Woolworths Spearwood, whose generosity helped make the day possible.

The biggest thank you goes to everyone who attended, donated, volunteered, performed and supported the event in any way. A great time was had by all, and we are so grateful to share these moments with our community 💛
