Hi Everyone. Photo Friday again. It comes around quickly when you lead a busy life.

We woulod like to thank Barbara Kennedy, who has forwarded us some names from last week's photo. We are hoping a few more names are discovered.

This weeks photo we are clueless about. Sadly, nothing is written on the back of this photo. Possibly a school photo, or even a Sunday School photo. Looking forward to receiving some responses.

Hi Everyone. Photo Friday again.

No-one was recognised in the last photo posted of Cobden Football Club players, even though it had been enhanced, and it became much clearer to view.

This week we have a photo that has C. Kerr, 6 Scott Street, Camperdown handwritten on the back. We are hoping someone else has this photo with the names of all the people in the photo. I am assuming this photo is of The Cobrico Kerr family, and/or Cobden Times Kerr Family. Surprisingly, many Cobden families are descendants of one or both of the earlier Kerr families.

We have received a number of enquiries from members of the public asking whether their relatives are buried in the Old Cobden Cemetery in Clarke Street.

Unfortunately, the original burial register for the cemetery has been lost, making it difficult to confirm burials from that period.

One of our followers suggested that we begin compiling our own record of burials using information from family historians. We are therefore seeking copies of death certificates for people who died before 1890 and are believed to be buried in the Old Cobden Cemetery.

If you have a copy of a relevant death certificate and would be willing to donate it to assist with this project, we would greatly appreciate your help. By working together, we hope to create a valuable resource for researchers, family historians, and the wider community.

This community project is the subject of last week's newspaper article.

Good Evening Everyone. It's Photo Friday.

No responses from last week's photo I am afraid.

This week we have a photo of the Cobden Football Club, which is in very poor condition, however some of the players faces are quite clear.

Hi Everyone. Just letting you all know that we gratefully received a $500 donation from Thommos Social Club last Thursday evening. Thank you very much for considering donating to our organisation. This donation will probably go to repairing one of our many windows that are in very poor repair at our home, the Chocolyn Hall.

Below is our member Donna receiving the cheque from Russell McCann.

Good Evening Everyone. Sorry I am a day late with Photo Friday. We had a very busy day yesterday and I was in bed at 8.45 and completely forgot to post.

It has been suggested that last week's photo is Jack Colyer who was farmer at Cobrico. I would love to get a positive recognition from somebody else.

This week's photo shows how early settlers made do for furniture using bits they had in their environment. These men are using kerosine boxes for chairs. It would be amazing to determine who they are, and where they are.

We would like to sincerely thank the Corangamite Shire for sponsoring the publication of our new brochures.

We would also like to thank Barb Cowley for creating, designing and producing our brochures, which have been praised by many of our patrons. One of the brochures cover the Cobden Story Boards that has been Kelvin White’s brainchild. These highly informative Story Boards explain the history of various Cobden people, buildings, and organisations making Cobden the place it is today. They can be found on various walking trails around Cobden.

Edit: It has been suggested that Jack Colyer is the farmer milking the cow on their Cobrico farm.

Good Evening Everybody. It's Photo Friday again.

Before we begin, we are opened on Sunday 17th May, between 11 and 3.30. We are opening our new "Pop-Up Exhibition" of Deb Dresses through the Ages from the 1950's to the 1990's. If anyone wants to have a dress included in our display, it's not too late to include more gowns.

We didn't receive any replies from last week's post. This week we have a farmer hand milking a cow at Cobrico. Hoping somebody recognises this man and informs us where the dairy is?
