🌿 **Successfully Completed!** 🌿

Today, Recycle to Revive (R2R) was proud to be part of **"Knowledge Transfer of First Nations People to the Multicultural Casey Communities"** at Banjo Paterson Reserve, Lynbrook.

It was a wonderful morning of First Nations storytelling, connecting with Country, and discovering the native plants and wildlife of the reserve, all guided by a respected First Nations Elder. 💚

A heartfelt **thank you** to:
👏 Our incredible volunteers, whose time and energy made the day possible
👏 Every participant who joined us, asked questions and shared in the learning
👏 Our Elder, for generously sharing ancient wisdom and knowledge of caring for Country

🌍 Understanding Disasters: Preparedness, Recovery & Lessons for Safer Communities

Today on 3rd Oct 2026, Recycle to Revive (R2R) successfully hosted its 6th Webinar in collaboration with the Female Foresters' Network (FFN) — and it was an incredibly insightful session!

We were honoured to hear from two distinguished speakers:

🎙️ Dr. Bharat Raj Poudel – PhD researcher in Disaster Risk Reduction and Emergency Management, who explored disaster preparedness, relief and recovery strategies, and the critical role of media in shaping international response. He highlighted why Australia, the US, and the West paid close attention to Nepal's recent flash floods:

Our People – Over 500+ foreigners missing, including 43 Australians, many Kailash pilgrims, and 90 Americans unaccounted for

Our Response – DFAT crisis teams deployed, A$3.5M in Australian aid, US$31M from the US, and UN appeals reaching $49.6M

Our Story – Climate change as a global frame, viral "wall of water" visuals, and a tourism corridor familiar to Western trekkers

🎙️ Dr. Mohan Bahadur Chand – Himalayan Glaciologist & Climate Change Researcher, who delivered a powerful presentation on cascading cryosphere hazards, re-engineering hydropower infrastructure, redefining early warning systems, and building resilient mountain communities.

The session was expertly moderated by Dr. Radha Wagle (Biodiversity and Sustainability Specialist and Gender and Climate Change Expert) and hosted by Bhaskar Regmi (R2R President).
