How can we think differently to meet the growing need for food relief in rural areas like Clunes?

Big food security systems work with increasing sophistication, and we want to lean into them and draw on their strength. But for people who can't travel into bigger regional centres or towns, relief is harder to get than ever.

Here are a few simple ways you might be able to help.

People across Australia are feeling the squeeze right now. Rising costs of living impact us all and for many, food insecurity is now a reality, exacerbated by the war and petrol crisis. Demand for support isn't decreasing and for country towns like Clunes, this means thinking differently about how e...

Thank you for the lovely bunches of freshly picked herbs dropped off at Neighbourhood House this morning! They have been popped in a vase of fresh water down at the stall at 25 Fraser Street.

Clunes has two stalls (Fraser Street and the back of the Bottle Museum - which also has a fridge).

If you are looking for something to do this weekend why not sort through those spare pantry items and top up the stalls? The Fraser Street stall does get the afternoon sun, so packaged staples work there best and are easier for people without transport to access.

Meet local police over a FREE coffee at the Coffee Palace, ask questions, discuss safety and build connections.

This great initiative is one of three that Hepburn Shire and the Victorian Police are holding at different cafes in Clunes this year. While the Main Street will be impacted by setup for Booktown, don’t stress. You’ll be able to still park in Service Street 😀.

See you there!
