🌟 CLONCURRY NAIDOC WEEK 2025 – THAT’S A WRAP! 🌟

Today we concluded an incredible week of culture, community, and celebration with our heartfelt Closing Ceremony at the Cloncurry Community Precinct. It’s been a week to remember!

Last night, the Cloncurry NAIDOC Committee teamed up with the Cloncurry Touch Association for an action-packed Family Sports Night, proudly welcoming the JT Academy to run exciting Skills & Drills with our young ones. 🏉🙌🏾

A huge thank you to Evolution – Ernest Henry Operations for putting on a delicious community BBQ that brought everyone together. 🔥🌭

Our kids were also treated to:

🏃🏽‍♀️ NAIDOC Sports Packs

A special shout-out to:

CLONCURRY NAIDOC WEEK – COMMUNITY MARCH 2025

What a powerful morning walking together in unity, pride and celebration of culture at today’s NAIDOC Week Community March 💛🖤❤️

A massive thank you to Cloncurry State School, St Joseph’s Catholic School, Cloncurry Shire Council, Cloncurry Police and the wider Cloncurry community for showing up strong and deadly to support this important event. Your presence and spirit were felt every step of the way.

🔥 Our Deadly Dancers lit up the streets with their energy and pride – what an incredible way to honour Country and culture.

🌭 Huge shout out to MMG Dugald River for keeping everyone fed and hydrated with a free sausage sizzle and poppers – thank you for your support and community spirit.

🎶 And a special mention to the Prep class from St Joseph’s for their heart-melting performance – you mob were amazing and made the crowd smile from ear to ear.

Together, we continue to walk forward – celebrating “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy”.

We’re a little over halfway through our NAIDOC Week celebrations and what an incredible turnout it’s been!

💛 Elder’s Luncheon – a heart-warming gathering celebrating our Elders
🛍 Twilight Markets & Murrioake – a vibrant evening of culture and community
🎓 Career’s Expo – connecting our youth with future opportunities
🖐 Under 5’s Day – a morning of fun, laughter, and learning
🎤 Comedy Night ft. Kevin Kropinyeri - a fantastic night full of laughter

What a busy morning at Under 5’s Day. Thanks to The Curry Kindy for hosting, all who helped out including Nick from MMG, Harmony, Mikaela from PlayMatters Australia, our dances, parents and not to forget our under 5ers.

Wow how inspiring thank you Derrick for being our guest speaker at our Cloncurry Community NAIDOC Careers Day. As I looked around the room it was clear you had the audience captivated all eyes were on you and some with tears as you shared your life’s journey. WELL DONE

Another successful NAIDOC event. Thank you to all who attended. A big thanks to Rainbow Gateway for doing the BBQ, Uncle Chico and band for the entertainment and our stall holders. Would not have been a success without all.

Yesterday we held our Elders Luncheon with lots of prizes and great food. I would like to say a big thank you to all who attended, the models who did a fantastic job, Sanita from “Handmade by NiNi”, for making the clothing , Tyla for doing the model’s hair, Montana for doing the makeup, Maggie our MC, Sherron for the beautiful food, St Joseph’s Students for helping serve the meals, Hombre for Welcome to Country, Jenny or PLO and anyone else that helped to make it a success including all our sponsors and or Cloncurry Community NAIDOC Committee for pulling it all together to make it a fantastic day.
