Vale Daniel (Dan) Holzapfel
The Redland Foundation is deeply saddened by the passing of our Patron and friend, Daniel (Dan) Holzapfel, at the remarkable age of 103.
Born and raised in Mount Cotton and later residing in Capalaba with his sister Una, Dan dedicated his life to serving others. A former Redland Shire Councillor, long-time Rotarian and passionate community advocate, he made an extraordinary contribution to the Redlands throughout his lifetime.
Dan was a generous supporter of the Redland Foundation and a significant contributor to our Domestic and Family Violence initiatives, including Dîner En Rouge. His philanthropy helped raise awareness, support vital local services and provide hope to those experiencing violence and hardship.
His commitment to service also extended globally through Rotary's campaign to eradicate polio, helping protect millions of children around the world.
Dan's generosity, humility and community spirit will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
We extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends and fellow Rotarians.
Thank you, Dan, for a life of service and for leaving our community stronger, safer and more connected.
