Clermont4Doctors is proud to support doctors, nurses and their families who choose to live and work in Clermont. A few years ago, we expanded our incentives to include nurses, recognising the vital and invaluable contribution nurses make to our community.

As a reminder, all Clermont nurses can access fully-funded Rural and Isolated Practice Registered Nurse (RIPRN) training, with the next intake round beginning in November this year. RIPRN training is a valuable opportunity to broaden skills, build confidence and take on additional responsibilities in rural practice. Clermont4Doctors also provides financial incentives for nurse practitioners working in Clermont through our Nurse Practitioner Incentive Agreement.

A great grey aged care and accommodation desert stretches across our region. The lack of suitable housing and aged care options, leaves many seniors with no choice but to leave the communities theyโ€™ve shaped for decades.

In Clermont, weโ€™re fortunate to have the Montcler Aged Care facility where 22 older residents who require fullโ€‘time medical and clinical care can stay local. But residential aged care is only one part of the picture - and it doesnโ€™t meet the much broader need for appropriate senior living and ageing-in-place options across our region.

One of ClermontCONNECTโ€™s key focus areas is Our Seniors.

We want to help create more choices for people as they age and allow them to stay close to family, friends, familiar places and the community that is part of who they are. Growing older should not automatically mean having to move away.

Our community deserves more options that allow people to age well, live independently for longer, and stay where they belong โ€” right here.

We are pleased to welcome Elisha Parker as the newest Director on the ClermontCONNECT CQ Board.

Many in our community know Elisha as a proud Clermont local, rural advocate, lawyer, businesswoman and strong voice for regional communities.

Elisha brings a valuable mix of legal, governance, business, agriculture and regional leadership experience to ClermontCONNECT. Sheโ€™s a busy person who has amongst other things, been appointed to the Boards of Beef Australia, nbn Australia and AgForce Queensland. She was also the winner of the 2020 QLD Agrifutures Rural Womenโ€™s Award. Elisha understands rural communities, the challenges we face, and the importance of creating practical, locally-led solutions that help towns like ours stay strong.

As ClermontCONNECT continues to work across health, education, seniors living and community infrastructure, we are grateful to have Elishaโ€™s skills, experience and local commitment around our Board table.

Dr Sarah Ross is an experienced General Practitioner with a wide range of interests, including Aboriginal health, chronic disease management (including diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease), and skin cancer removal. She has additional training in emergency medicine and is committed to building strong relationships with her patients.

Dr Julia Nicholas is an experienced General Practitioner who enjoys supporting patients across all aspects of family medicine, chronic disease management, antenatal care and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health. She also has a special interest in skin cancer checks and management.
