A wonderful day for our Graduations today, with lots of handlers and dogs being assessed as ready for the next level.

Biggest congratulations to Paul Arthur and Patch who passed Level 4 today, gaining their Basic Obedience Certificate. Well done Paul and Patch. They have worked patiently and persistently for a wonderful reward.

We also caught up with Cheri and Benny, West Highland Terrier, to present them with their Basic Obedience Certificate and ribbon which they qualified for last month. They are now regular attendees in Class 5 where they can socialise with like-minded people and their dogs and work towards Trial and/or Rally competitions if they choose to do so.

Two dogs and their handlers will now move from Class 3 to Class 4 and they are Brook with Byron the Cattle Dog and Jacqui with Lucy the Tenterfield Terrier. That gives them two months to achieve their Basic Obedience Certificate in 2026 or will they need to keep training into 2027 for this? We look forward to seeing them take on the challenges of Class 4.

Francis with Kitsune the Corgi X graduated from Class 2, ready for Class 3 where they will do off lead recalls, stand for examination, stays off lead at a distance and extend all other work.

Class 1 had one successful graduand - Kang Soo with Mango the Golden Retriever.

Quite a few of Learners proved that they are ready for Class 1. Trixie and Toshimaru, Simon with Crumpet, Geraldine with Lucy, Evan with Caesar, Nicole with Paprika, Zandra with Comet and Meredith with Maddie will join Class 2 for their next session. It looks like we need all hands on deck to handle class 2 next month.

Rebecca with Bindee the Boxer and Rahul with Mochi have been in Puppy Class and Bindee and Mochi (the dogs!!) are now 6 months old and will move onto their next class to fine tune what they have been doing in Puppy Class.

Class 5 member, Kerrie Gormlie with Violet, the Rottweiler, brought good news from their attendance at the Munno Para Dog Obedience Club Trial yesterday. They gained their third pass at Community Companion Dog (CCD) level to gain their Title and can now apply to Dogs SA for their Certificate. They can also move onto working towards their Companion Dog (CD) Title. Great news, Kerrie and Violet.

It was great to also welcome four new dogs and their handlers to our Beginners Class to learn how the club works. We hope to see you all join us and work together as you train your dogs.

While all of this was happening Gail assisted anyone who wanted to work in the Ring to prepare for Rally Trialing.

There is a Public Holiday next weekend so there will not be any training sessions on Sunday 4 October. See you all next on Sunday 11 October.

Next Graduation Day will be 25 October, so only three training sessions before the next testing is done. The Halloween Fun Day will also be held on 25 October, after Graduations, and there will be activities and games - as well as yummy pancakes with a variety of toppings. Something to look forward to.

It's on again!! Graduation testing will be done for all classes this Sunday 27 September. We look forward to presenting many graduation ribbons and certificates to handlers and dogs in all levels.

We are planning another Fun Day - this time a Halloween Fun Day which will be held on the October Graduation Day, 25 October. Graduation testing will be done first and then we will have fun activities for dogs and humans and yummy pancakes with a variety of toppings.

Graduation Day today (as well as pick up day for the Lamington orders), so it was a busy morning in beautiful weather. It certainly feels like Spring has sprung!!

Huge congratulations to Cheri and Benny, the West Highland Terrier, for passing Class 4 and qualifying for their Basic Obedience Certificate. Beautiful work Cheri and Benny.

No dogs graduated from Class 3 this month. Keep up the regular training during the week - just short sessions every day (or several times a day) and we look forward to seeing the results at the end of September. Don't forget that the Instructors are happy to give suggestions for any exercises that are proving difficult for the dog and/or handler.

There were 2 successful graduations from Class 2. Jacqui and Lucy (Tenterfield) and Emily and Kevin (Golden Retriever) will move onto Class 3 next week and six dogs and their handlers will move on from Class 1 to Class 2. They are Judy and Oscar (Labradoodle), Mirna and Lexi (Havanese), Craig and Willow (Labrador), Mana and Milo (Cavoodle), Francis and Kitsune (Corgi X) and Chester and Millie (Blue Heeler).

Learners who will move onto Class 1 are Denis with Monty (Cavoodle) and Sharni and Lexi (American Staffy X).

A special "Congratulations" to Kerrie and Violet, her Rottweiler, for gaining first place in last week's Community Companion Dog (CCD) Obedience Trial at Port Adelaide Dog Obedience Club. A very impressive 95 points were awarded from a possible 100. Great work Kerrie and Violet.

There were complimentary lamingtons and cuppas available for attendees today to celebrate the success of the recent Lamington Drive. Many thanks to those who purchased lamingtons and to Gail and Pauline for all of their work processing the orders and providing the complimentary refreshments.

The weather is changing, so take the opportunity to get out with your dog for some short and frequent trainings ready for September's Graduation which will be held on 27 September.

Kyton Lamington orders will be available for pick up this Sunday 30 August from 9.30 am and 12 noon. Gail and her helpers will be under the verandah at the end of the clubrooms for the pick up.
