Rocketship is calling all Rocketeers as we seek Expressions of Interest for a program in Timor-Leste for late 2024 through 2025.
We require both in-country and remote support.

Rocketship Pacific team came in numbers to RMA23 in Hobart. With us, we are excited to have the inaugural Vanuatu doctors enrolled in FNUs Diploma of Family Medicine, Randy and Ryan.
Rocketship provides the in country support and distance mentoring to our Pacific Island FNU enrolled doctors in Vanuatu and Tonga.
This program is scalable and we are exploring new country engagements and ways to overcome our biggest challenge, funding.

Rocketship in Fiji for First Workshop

An amazing expedition to Fiji National University representing Rocket+Ship for the first training workshop of 2023 with the Diploma and Masters of Family Medicine programs. For three years Jill Benson and I have worked with this program remotely (thanks covid). It was incredibly special to meet the education team and the doctors in person for the first time.
We were also incredibly lucky to tour the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital. Volunteer surgical teams from all over the world visit Fiji to perform cardiac surgery on children living (and dying) with congenital and rheumatic heart disease (at no cost to the children!) A service that the children have never before been able to access in the pacific islands. Over 100 surgeries have successfully been completed since the facility opened in April. Thank you Dr Krupali Rathod Tappoo for the tour and for showing us the amazing work you do!

Rocketship will see programs in Tonga, Fiji, Vanuatu and Solomon Islands in 2023. Opportunities for volunteers exist in a number of areas.

Rocketship finished 2022 on an exciting note returning to Tonga to complete the FNU Family Medicine Diploma Advanced Life Support course. It is with excitement that we return to the Pacific.

Rocketship heads to Tonga
Rocketship's Sam Jones and John Mackenzie have spent the last week in Tonga to visit our trainees, conduct an ALS, meet with our MoH colleagues as well as enjoy all Tonga has to offer. Congratulations to the five trainee doctor's who completed their ALS as part of the Family Medicine Diploma requirements. We thank our colleagues at FNU for assisting in this trip; our first post Covid and travel restrictions.
We bid John a fond farewell! A stalwart of the Family Medicine Program for the past four years, you will be missed by the Rocketship team and all our trainees. We cannot thank you enough for your wisdom, passion and support to us all. We wish you and Pam all the very best in retirement!
