🎄Today, together with our amazing partners, we hosted our annual Father Bob’s Christmas lunch at St Kilda Town Hall for over 300 of our friends.

🍽️ A hot meal, companionship and connection, all shared around the tables. For many, it was a moment of warmth and joy during what can be a difficult time of year.

As we head into the festive season, it’s important to remember that while many of us are planning celebrations, thousands in our community are doing it tough.

This year, we're asking you to consider donating instead of gifting.

🥫 This weekend is our Winter Food Drive and we look forward to seeing you 🤗

📅 All food donations can be brought to Father Bob’s Pantry on:
SUNDAY 15 JUNE
12pm – 5pm
204 Gladstone St, South Melbourne
(cnr of Boundary and Gladstone Streets)

🛒 If you can’t make it down, simply shop at your favourite supermarket’s online store and they will deliver directly to us at the above address.

Please arrange deliveries from 9am to 2pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

If you’re not sure what we might need, here’s a list of our most requested items.

Our food drive is back, help us ensure 'no one is left behind' 🥫🥫

The Pantry is in desperate need of basic long-life food & household items.

In the coming weeks, we’re asking you add a few extra items to your shopping trolley and you can drop your donations into Father Bob's Pantry, 204 Gladstone St on cnr of Boundary St, South Melbourne, on SUNDAY 15 JUNE.

Alternatively, you can use your favourite store’s online service, and they will deliver directly to us. Please arrange deliveries from 9am to 2pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

If you’re not sure what we might need, here’s a list of our most requested items:

It’s only fitting on the last day of 2024 to say thank you to all our friends who come to the Pantry and the Sunday evening meals, and to all the volunteers who make it happen.

Thank you.

Thank you for your company, your friendship, your conversations, your drawings, your love.

You are the reason. The heart and soul of the Fr Bob Pantry.

Wishing you all a safe and happy new year and looking forward to seeing you all again in 2025.

Most of our thank yous have been food-related but at this time of the year we also need to say a special thank you to everyone who has given us toys so we in turn could provide extra Christmas treats to so so many children.

Thank you to SDI, Rotary, Kelly Partners, Galilee Primary School, Middle Park Primary School, Civic Kindergarten, Middle Park Kindergarten, The Village Store Middle Park, St John of Jerusalem and to all the other kind kind donors.

Your kindness helped bring extra happiness to so many children and families.

Today’s monster thank you is to all the wonderful food agencies, shops, schools, businesses and individuals who provide the fresh fruit and vegetables, milk, pre cooked frozen meals and long life pantry food.

To FareShare and SecondBite (recently merged), Foodbank Victoria, OzHarvest Melbourne, Hunky Dory Fish & Chips, Gum Tree Good Food Pty Ltd, How Now Dairy, Bega, The Leaf Store, It’s the Little Things Community, Elwood Primary School, Albert Park College and all the businesses and individuals who have contributed donations through the year.

Without your incredible support we wouldn’t be able to provide all the wonderful fresh fruit and vegetables, pre cooked meals and pantry food. We are truly indebted to you all.

The Fr Bob Pantry has enjoyed a long and valuable relationship with Kids In Philanthropy (KiP).

Working alongside charities such as Fr Bob’s and often in schools, KiP enables children, parents and families to directly help those in need, in our case making lots of different food items.

Over the years the KiP programs have produced thousands of sweat treats, tea and coffee bags and more recently their now famous “breakfast on the go” and instant noodles with added nutrition.

And in doing so, the KiP sessions help children to understand the importance of supporting one another today and, hopefully, sow seeds of support for their lives ahead.

With thanks to everyone at KiP and the many many schools we’ve been to.

Today’s thank you is to Spotlight who have been incredible supporters of the Pantry, financially, in food and manpower😄😄

The Spotlight Foundation made a significant donation, food donations have come from team members from the Spotlight Retail Group Support Office in South Melbourne and on two days recently the Pantry was run by volunteers from different divisions including the Spotlight Foundation, Spotlight Property Group and the Spotlight Retail Group Support Office in South Melbourne.
