Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible women who keep farms and families moving.💖

Esme is one of those amazing ladies who has dedicated her life to the farm and raising her 10 children, who are a vital part of the Farm Angels community.

Through countless early mornings, late nights and everything in between, today is for the mums behind it all. 💖

This Creamed Rice from dairy farmer Steve Blanch is a regular on their table, cooked in big batches and enjoyed by the whole family.

The recipe was handed down from his mum, Esme, who is now 94 and still lives on the farm with Steve.

Made using fresh milk from their own cows, it’s a simple, delicious dessert that’s stood the test of time.

Our Community Engagement Lead Mon recently visited the Longwood fire region, spending time on 10 farms and connecting with local farmers 💗

It was a deeply moving visit. Each farmer is processing their grief in their own way, while also beginning to think about what rebuilding might look like.

Many shared they’re still in shock, coming to terms with the loss of their homes, livestock and the life they once knew.

One thing that really stood out was the strength of community. Even in incredibly hard moments, there was a strong sense of gratitude for the support and generosity shown by those around them.

Mon also attended the Alexandra Pro Rodeo - a powerful reminder that even in the toughest times, people continue to show up for one another 🤍

If you’re in a position to help, you can support farmers impacted by the fires via the link in our bio.

For many farmers across rural Australia, Anzac Day also marks the start of the winter crop sowing season - a moment of hope as the autumn break brings some much-needed rain to get planting underway.

It’s a reminder of resilience, sacrifice and the deep strength of Australians, both in the fields and in service.

This Anzac Day, we pause to pay respect to those who have served and their strong families. Lest we forget.

This Earth Day, we’re celebrating the farming families who go above and beyond to care for the land 💛

From being smarter with water, to looking after soil health and embracing more sustainable ways of farming - it’s the everyday decisions that make a big difference.

All these small steps add up to something bigger, helping protect the future of our land and communities 🌱
