Lesley F took up the opportunity to attend a workshop held at Craft Alive recently. Lesley's work is called 'Memento Monogram'.
The workshop was run by Louise Saxton. Louise is a visual artist and reimagines vintage doilies, tableclothes and other needleworks into contempory works of art.
You can see here, how beautiful and delicate the finished product can be.

Craft Alive has been to Canberra and moved on to another town or city. If you had the opportunity to visit on one of the four days, I hope you found something interesting to purchase. Here are my buys - a new style hoop with a different tightening mechanisim not the usual screw. It comes with a spanner and is available in different sizes and colours, Two packs of my favourite needles and something to embroider.

Penny has completed this needlebook which was commenced in the Jennifer Bennett class based on Annemieke Mein's work. This is an amazing effort, particularly given that this was her first attempt at most of the techniques covered. Very impressive Penny.
