Hardanger is an embroidery technique that I've never managed to master. This is Adele's first piece of hardanger, she has been learning under the expert guidance of Lesley J. Congratulations Adele, a lovely piece and the pink is very pretty.

Julie is very busy preparing for a new family arrival. She has completed this blanket featuring delicately embroidered flowers and a bear who looks very much like Winnie-The-Pooh! Lovely.

This embroidery is from a class with Anna Scott titled Sweet Repose.
" Sweet Repose was inspired by the fabulous
flowers and foliage often seen in traditional crewel
work. Sweet Repose is embroidered using 20 different
stitches and stitch combinations to create texture and
patterns within the design."
Penny R attended the class and has turned her embroidery into this striking and beautifully finished cushion.

Margaret Sherry has designed 14 of these delightful ' furry friends' in cross stitch. . Jan H has completed several and here are 2 of them. Children would love these ( as would some adults) I'm sure.

VIEWERS' CHOICE AWARD ANNOUNCEMENT
Congratulations Nicola Honan on winning the Sydney Craft & Quilt Fair Viewers' Choice award in the Australian Quilt Show with her glorious quilt, An Impulsive Jungle Garden.
The quilt is a blend of colourful improvisation with machine piecing, raw edge appliqué with wood block and linocut printing techniques using richly textured fabrics and superbly finished with free motion machine quilting.
Nicola wins $250 which is proudly sponsored by Janome Australia and Expertise Events.

Helen W has made this unusual knitted scarf. She purchased the kit at Craft Alive in May. It looks a very complicated pattern but the finished item is gorgeous.

These will look familiar to many. They were very popular years ago. A bag of knitted but unmade coat hanger covers were gifted to the guild and the Thursday ladies made them up. I'm sure they'll be popular at our gift shop at the exhibition in September.
