Good afternoon everyone, on this sunny Sunday afternoon.
I am pleased to inform you that the August edition of the Cherry Chatter newsletter is now available for your reading pleasure at www.cherrychatter.org.au

Part 2 of the History of the Lewis Family is included in this edition as well as details of our newest advertiser.

Our advertising rates haven't increased for over 4 years so now is a great time to take advantage of our cheap rates to advertise your business or services (see the Fridge List for details). Our distribution is 340 hard copies of the newsletter (delivered to mailboxes by hand by our reliable delivery volunteers), plus all advertisers are on our website, plus there is the printable Fridge List for handy access to services. We also email copies to those who signed up for our Mailchimp email blast every month. See the bottom of the landing page of the website for the sign-up form if you'd like to receive your email copy each month. We also include new advertisers in the body of the newsletter for their first month.

Our advertisers pay for our printing, and for the donations we give to community groups in the Cherry Gardens district such as the Ironbank Cherry Gardens Netball Club, Ironbank Cherry Gardens Football Club, Cherry Gardens Ironbank Recreation Ground, Cherry Gardens Memorial Hall, plus various other groups.

CHERRY CHATTER ADVERTISING SPACES AVAILABLE.

Do you have a business that you run in Cherry Gardens or surrounds?
Are you looking for some inexpensive advertising space in our local Cherry Chatter newsletter which gets printed 11 months of the year? We print 340 copies each month and they are distributed by hand to the local area, which includes Coromandel East.
As an advertiser, your fee would be helping to pay for the printing, and also enabling us to give donations to local sporting groups, CFS and Memorial Hall, and any other worthy local group/cause.
If you would like to support a local newsletter, and at the same time get your product/services out to the local area, we currently have a few spaces to fill in our newsletter. These spaces are various sizes and the pricing is on the attached PDFs.
Your advertisement doesn't only go into the newsletter. We also have a website www.cherrychatter.org.au where your advertisement will be placed, and highlighted in the main newsletter content for the first month. We have a Fridge List so people can print it out and have a list of local services on hand. Many people have found this extremely useful.
If you would like to advertise with us, please email [email protected] and we will contact you with more information. It's also useful to have your own logo and wording and we can make up an advert for you that you are happy with.
You'll be happy to know that our advertising rates have not increased in about 5 years.

Did you know ..... that the City of Onkaparinga has an App 'My Local Services' and it has a link at the bottom right - 'Report It', which I have just used to report a huge hole on Ackland Hill Road. Big enough to swallow a motorbike whole I reckon, at least to cause a motorbike or bicycle rider to have a serious accident. Anyway, this app allows you to use the GPS to drop a pin and take a photo so Council know exactly where it is and what to look for. You then describe the obstacle, hole, tree down etc. using the App and it registers immediately at the Council.
Very handy, as it gives an accurate location and saves having to phone Council with a description.

Thank you to everyone who attended our ANZAC Day service at the Cherry Gardens Soldiers Memorial. It continues to be a special and well-supported community event, and we’re grateful to all who came to pay their respects, including the dignitaries who joined us.

It is with genuine disappointment that, for the third year in a row, the wreaths laid in honour of those who served—particularly our local veterans—have been removed in the days following the service. These wreaths are placed as a mark of remembrance and respect, and their removal is deeply disheartening to our committee and community.

We have reported the matter and are sharing this for awareness. If anyone has any information, we would appreciate you getting in touch with us directly.

Thank you again to our community for continuing to support this important tradition.
