Join 109 ACU in 2026

109 ACU is now recruiting for the 2026 intake. With 20 positions currently available, interested applicants are encouraged to apply promptly, as spots are filling up quickly for the new year.

About the Australian Army Cadets (AAC)
The Australian Army Cadets (AAC) is a youth development organisation inspired by the character and values of the Australian Army, embracing Service, Courage, Respect, Integrity, and Excellence.

Eligibility Criteria
Young people who turn 13 years old at any time during the year are eligible to enrol in the AAC. Once enrolled, cadets may remain until the end of the year in which they turn 18.

Cadet Experience
As a cadet, you will develop confidence, self-sufficiency, and a willingness to 'have a go'. It is an opportunity to take on new challenges and enjoy memorable experiences.
Cadet life is active but not dangerous, and you do not need to be exceptionally athletic. All instruction is provided by qualified and experienced cadet officers, with safety as a top priority.

By joining the Australian Army Cadets, you can participate in a wide range of action-packed adventures and make new friends. It is a chance to enjoy exciting activities and develop valuable skills.

Well done cadets from 109 ACU standing in the pouring rain at the Dawn Service at Lutwyche Cemtery forming an Honour Guard behind the graves of deceased service men and women. And carring out a Catafalque party, flag party and later in the morning participating in the march
The dedication of the 109 cadets speak volumes of the commitment to the Australian Army Cadets, their community and the unit.

109 ACU is Recruiting for 2025- we have 20 positions vacant and remaining so if you want to join get in quick as we are filling fast for the new year.
The Australian Army Cadets (AAC) is a youth development organisation with the character and values of the Australian Army, adopting the values of Service, Courage, Respect, Integrity and Excellence.

Youth who are 13 years of age anytime in the year are eligible to enroll in the AAC. Once enrolled, they may remain as a cadet until the end of the year in which they attain 18 years of age.

As a cadet, you'll learn to be confident, self-sufficient and willing to 'have a go'. It's your opportunity to discover new challenges and have some unbelievable fun.

Cadet life is physical but not risky - and you won't have to be a superwoman or superman. Qualified and experienced cadet officers will instruct you. Safety is always a top priority.

Why would you want to join the Australian Army Cadets (AAC)?
Apart from getting involved in all kinds of action and adventures, you'll also make heaps of new friends.
