The draws are out. The NSW Open Championships and NSW Women’s Amateur Championships run at Sydney Real Tennis Club from Friday 14th to Sunday 16th August, with play starting at midday Friday and finals all through Sunday.

Kieran Booth leads the Open singles draw alongside Chris Chapman, Alex Marino-Hume and Jackson Pastoor, while Emma Clyde and Jo See Tan meet in the Women’s Amateur singles final on Sunday. Doubles, plate and B-grade events run right across the weekend — swipe through for every draw.

🏆 B GRADE DOUBLES CHAMPIONSHIPS 🏆

Congratulations to Alastair and Ivan, our new B Grade Doubles Champions! They took the title 6/2 1/6 6/4 in a hard-fought final against Aaron and Greg.

After a commanding opening set, Alastair and Ivan were pegged back as Aaron and Greg surged through the second. The decider went the distance before our champions edged ahead to seal it.

Huge congratulations to both pairs on a terrific final and thank you to everyone who came down to watch.

🎾 Rookie Doubles 2026 🎾

What a weekend! The Rookie Doubles 2026 took place on 4th & 5th July at Sydney Real Tennis Club, open exclusively to players in their first year of Real Tennis. First to 8 games, with the top pair from each group advancing to the final.

🏆 Group 1: Chris Cave & Tailai O’Brien took the group with an impressive 3 wins and 24 games.

🏆 Group 2: A tight one — every pair won exactly 1 match each, but John Boniciolli & Reg Edwards edged through on games, winning the group by just 1 game.

🥇 The Final: Chris Cave & Tailai O’Brien vs John Boniciolli & Reg Edwards — Chris & Tailai sealed it 8/4 to take out the Rookie Doubles 2026!

A huge thank you to everyone who came and played — it’s always brilliant to see new members embrace the game and get competitive so early in their journey. The future of the club is in great hands! 🙌

🎾 Quarterly Medal #2 🎾
On 27th July 2026, SRTC hosted the second Quarterly Medal of 2026! This brought together our 50-65 Handicap players for a series of quick, sharp 25 minute singles matches, with each group winner battling it out in the final.

🏆 Group 1: A nail-biter from start to finish - William Lambe came out on top with 12 game wins, with just 2 games separating first from last in the group.
🏆 Group 2: Cam Bartlett dominated with a commanding 29 game wins, taking out his group by a massive 14 games.
🥇 The Final: Cam Bartlett vs William Lambe, with Cam taking the win 7/5 in a tightly fought decider.

Huge thanks to everyone who came down and competed - the standard and the sportsmanship were both fantastic to see.

Doug Grant Cup 2026 🔥
What a weekend! Seven Sydney players made the trip to Ballarat to take on the home side in the annual Doug Grant Cup, and it certainly didn’t disappoint.

Three days of incredible tennis, fierce competition, plenty of laughs and outstanding hospitality made for an unforgettable event. Every match was hard fought, with the lead changing hands throughout the weekend before Ballarat edged ahead to claim the Cup 10–7.

A huge thank you to everyone at Ballarat Real Tennis Club for making us feel so welcome. Congratulations on a well-deserved win—we’ll be looking to reclaim the Cup when we host next time! 💪🎾

A special thank you to Doug Grant for joining us to present the trophy, and to all the players and supporters who made the weekend such a fantastic celebration of Australian Real Tennis.

🎾 Club Singles Handicap Championship – Finals Day 🎾
What a day at SRTC! Since the championships kicked off back in March, members have been battling through the draw for a shot at glory, and it all came down to six finals played out on 30th May 2026. From a tight Class 4 opener to a showdown in Class 2, a top-class Class 1 final, a dominant Class 3 win, a nail-biter in Class 5, and a hard-fought Ladies final - Finals Day had it all.
